I had been looking for something to organise my son's every expanding collection of bath toys for a while as piling them up in the corner of the bath or on the window sill was beginning to look very untidy. I came across this Munchkin Bath Organiser in Asda at one of their baby events. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for this, but current price online is around £5-8. I think I paid towards the lower end of that scale as £8 seems pretty steep to me.
The organiser comes in blue and pink. I purchased blue for a boy, which is also handy as the colour scheme for our bathroom is blue too. It is a bright, deep blue though so very distinctive. It fits in the corner of the bathroom above the bath so sticks on the two wall, with two suction cups for each wall. The organiser has a pea green trim along the top and around a circle of netting at the front. The netting here serves two purposes - you can see the holder is filled with bath toys and the excess water in these can seep out so you don't get pooling of water in the bottom of the holder.
The organiser is made of a thick, foamy feeling material that is obviously waterproof. This is a mildew-resistant neoprene material and I have found this to be of decent quality as it has aged well with no obvious wear and tear and we have had it about a year now. It is also mould and mildew free. It also holds a good amount of toys too. When my son was younger and had a lot of ducks and 'squirty' type toys it seemed to hold no end of these. As he has got older and the toys have got bigger, it requires more careful packing to ensure these all fit it. It still holds a decent amount of toys though.
I was a bit dubious as to how well the sucker pads will hold this up, especially when full of toys. Having had experience with sucker pads not holding things up in the bathroom, I suspected that this may follow the same suit. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with how well this holds. Don't get me wrong, it can slip from time to time - usually as one sucker has come loose. However, it does not slip and fall completely from the wall, even when filled with toys. It is worth noting here that out bathroom tiles are smooth rather than textured and I suspect that this would be not be the case on textured tiles as no suction could be maintained.
Overall, a decent toy tidy for the bathroom. I do find it a little cheap looking and bright but it serves a purpose!
My daughter has way too many bath toys so we decided to look around for a net to hang in the bath to store them in. I found it quite hard to find one anywhere but eventually found the Munchkin corner bath organiser in Asda so decided to give it a go.
---About the product:
The Munchkin Corner Bath Organiser is designed to fit into a bath or onto tiles to keep bath toys dry and organised. It is made from neoprene with a small mesh section on the front of it. The neoprene is supposed to be mildew resistant. There are four suction caps on the back of the organiser which can be moved slightly from side to side to allow positioning. The orbginser comes in different colours, we have the pink one seen in the picture but there are definietly blue ones as well. This is a corner unit so fits into a right angle (or approximate) but therefore will not fit on a flat wall.
When I bought this, I failed to notice that it was a corner unit and was quite disappointed with it when I realised after getting it out of the box. We decided to try it out anway as our bath is in the corner of the room so I tried fitting it to the tiles in the corner. It would not work though and as soon as I got one side fitted, the other side would come off and vice versa. I tried moving the suckers but it didn't improve the way it stuck to the wall. We also tried wiping the walls to make sure the tiles were not dirty but to no avail. We eventually managed to get 3 of the suckers to stick but after a while they fell off again.
We then had a brainwave, why not stick it straight to the bath! We managed to get it to stick much more easily and it has not fallen off since. Although it gets wet much more regularly, it has not developed mould in the last 4 months and the toys are much cleaner as they're not sitting in water as much.
I don't think I could recommend this product as I believe it is designed for use on tiles and it doesn't seem to work well there. However, if you have space to fit it in your bath then I think this is a very useful product. We are able to fit a lot of toys into it and it has made our bathroom a lot tidier. It allows my daughter to get to her toys while she is playing in her bath and can tidy them away again after. It cost us between £5-6 which is a little more than I wanted to pay, but it does seem to be quite good quality.
