Nature Babycare Nappies
Advantages: Chlorine free great for the planet
Disadvantages: finding a pack can be a challenge
We have used washable nappies from the start but on day twelve my daughter was taken back into hospital with a virus which had caused her to have an upset stomach (lots of poop to those non parents). I stayed with her and planned to send hubby home with each dirty nappy with the instructions to wash, dry and return them ASAP. Well we managed for the first two days but then the rain came and drying outside wasn't posible, hubby arrived looking solemn telling me the nappies were just not dry and he didn't know what to do. I dispatched him off to tesco for a packet of disposables.
He appeared with a pack of these, after giving him the frown and asking him if these were cheaper than the pampers I would have gone for he said he had choosen them because they said eco friendly on the pack. This is the point where I feel like a cow and he polishes his halo of eco-ness.
The packet tells you that these nappies are award winning high performance eco nappies, the pack also tell me they are all natural materials based on maize starch, but what parents want to know is if they do the job and keep the poop where it should be. Now hubby picked up the pack of 36 at a cost of just over £6 not bad but the proof is in the pudding. These nappies have the velcro fastening and can be re-done if the position is wrong first time. Never I have had a tab come off in my hand which I suffered with constantly from huggies with my son. They are white nappies with tiny green flowers on them, they look like a soft plastic but feel like tissue.
We used these in hospital and boy oh boy we had some horrific nappies that ran faster than Linford Christie but not once did these nappies fail, they kept the contents in place everytime. I was absolutely amazed some of my daughters nappies had been pure liquid and a lot of it.
We have since changed to using these overnight and our washables during the day giving me chance to wash and get dry my others overnight. The only downside to these nappies seems to be locating a pack, our boot never has them in and the only other place that stock them is tesco.
Brilliant nappies with a brilliant ethos behind the company. Totally chlorine free breathable nappy.
Summary: Well worth trying
