Advantages: available most shops

Disadvantages: disposable, gel can be lethal if inhaled or swallowed

I first used Pampers 11 years ago with the birth of my first child. I tried other brands, but either they leaked or did not fit him comfortably. I used tem again 8 years ago with my second child, and got the same great results, so with the birth of our daughter this year, Pampers were on my shortlist of baby items to buy.

This time around the version I tried was called Pampers BabyDry and it seems to be a good name for this product. My little darling seems to save up all she has in her system and tries to flood herself out of her Moses Basket. This nappy has done remarkably well in stemming the tide despite her greatest efforts. I have only had leaks a few times, and they were actually due to user error (Mummy did not put on securely enough!).

The inner lining is of excellent quality; her skin has stayed very dry and I have had the good fortune to only have to resort to nappy cream after eating something I should not have prior to nursing. Most certainly that is not the fault of Proctor and Gamble!The tapes are also of good quality. I can unfasten and refasten as often as needed without having to resort to sticky tape repairs. Anyone who has had the misfortune to have to try this knows the frustration I am talking about!

All in all, I am very pleased with the quality of this product. We will continue to buy it.

~~~~Update~~~~~~
I first wrote this review a long time ago. I have to amend this now as after using these happily for quite some time, my daughter suffered a mishap from the gel. Some leaked out from a small manufacturing fault, and it got in her nose. Apparently the gel can be quite dangerous if inhaled. We switched to cloth as I refuse to use something that has potentially lethal parts to it, such as the gel. Most disposable brands have it, so we are off the disposables! Basically, the problem is that the gel continues t absorb up to ten times its weight in liquid, so if inhaled will dry out the lungs, tand as it does so, apparently swells and can obstruct the lungs. if swallowed, it will aborb liquid as it passes through the gastrointestinal tract. Apparently this one of the reasons they place warnings on the bags saying not to let small children play with nappies. Personally, I think they should have to be more specific with the warnings.
Summary: Gel inside these and other leading brands can be dangerous
A very good op, shroud. My sister-in-law swears by these nappies and won't use any other brand.
