Advantages: Locks the moisture away, Fun pictures

Disadvantages: Papery and course, Uncomfortable, Hard to apply.

Now after being a parent for 6 weeks, i have experienced several types of nappy makes.
Most notably the Huggies and Pampers Ranges.
However, being the most famous of nappies does not neccessarily make you the best.
I bring your attention to Pampers Baby Dry.
While the title leads you to think the baby remains dry, I tend to think otherwise. Either that or my little baby does a lot of number ones!!!
When it coes to changing time, daddy is on hand with the nappies. However, since we bought the Pampers baby dry, my job has been a lot more difficult.

Reason for this has been 2 fold.

Firstly, they seem very oddly designed. Baby tends not to sit directly in the middle of the nappy for some reason and this causes a problem when doing up the side tabs. I stick one side over and seal it down only to find that the second tab won't reach. This is because the baby is no right in the centre and i have done it up lob sided! Now im not daft and know how to place my baby but the nappy seems not to be shaped enough to help you when doing it up. Bad design. However the tabs do hold the nappy together well and are very strong and resealable.

The second reason is the feel of the nappy. It is extremely incomfortable to the touch. While the huggies feel quite soft, the Pampers are very course and papery. They make more of a crinkle sound when the nappy is on and must be uncomfortable to sit in all day. The sealing strips that go around the legs when the nappy is on are also very rigid and tend to dig into the soft legs of the baby and irritate.

Performance wise, well, they do lock a certain amount of moisture away and you can feel the weight of wee wee! However, when you undo the babygrow, the nappy bottom is quite yellowy on the outside so it has soaked deep into the nappy. Something that is not so visible on the huggies.

Looks of the nappy are quite fun. They have a range of different animals on the front which I thi
nk is a bit pointless as the baby is not likely to see it! In fact the only people that are likely to see it are the mums and dads that change them and the animals dont brighten my day when im facing the contents!!!

One thing I do notice is the dryness of the baby's bottom and tops of the legs. While the bottom can feel a little damp from sitting in the nappy from Huggies, the Pampers product does tend to keep more away from the baby's skin.

However, we have a happier baby in th eHuggies than the Pampers. Purely from the comfort fact of the soft huggies compared to the course Pampers.

Pricewise? Well the Pampers are more expensive and Come in packs of 16s,20s, 32, 64 and bigger! Personally, Im glad we only bought 32 as we are going back to Huggies right now.

In my opinion? Well my preference and my baby's preference is definitely Huggies!

These disposable nappies have come a long way from when my son was a baby 23 years ago. then they had no elastic on the legs and eveything just poured out. they were awful, so I just used terry ones.
