Advantages: Portable, roll up small!

Disadvantages: Quite thin to lie on

These mats are ideal for putting in your changing bag for taking out and about with you for when you need to change your baby's nappy! The mats measure 60cm by 60cm, have a white plasticky backing on with a colourful pattern on (cartoon characters) which goes on the surface you're changing on and then a nice soft cotton like surface to lay the baby on which feels a little quilted!

I wanted to get these mats having heard on the news while pregnant that a lot of the changing mats in public places are not always kept as clean as we would want and that some even had traces of cocaine on them! There was no way I was risking my baby coming in to contact with that! Since then I have always carried one of these around and tend to change her on my lap with one of these under her - just in case! Either that or I'll put the mat on a clean surface appropriate for changing on! These mats roll up very small - I haven't really used my proper changing bag yet but find these mats roll up small enough to fit in my small handbag along with a complete change of clothes, nappies and wipes! Unless the bottom of the mat is dirty or she's had a wee on the changing mat I do re-use them, so far of the pack of 12 I bought I've got 6 left, our daughter is 3 months old at the time of writing!

The mats are easy to purchase, we get ours delivered with our weekly shop from tesco where we pay £4.25 for 12 mats making them cost 35p each. You can get them from most supermarkets, boots and many places on line.

They have many other uses apart from nappy changes, I use one under our sheet to protect our bed in case a nappy leaks (but we haven't had this yet to test their efficiency but it's reassuring knowing our bed is safe!) and also in case of leaking milk. They can also be used when ther infant is starting to be potty trained - in buggies or car seats to protect them! The biggest use we have for them though is to give our daughter some nappy free time each day - placing her on one of these means peace of mind for us with respect to her play gym and our carpet!

Summary: A great mat, would recommend!
