Advantages: helps prevent little accidents on peoples carpets, potty training, bed wetting etc

Disadvantages: price, ammount in packet.

When I was pregnant, these mats were being advertised a lot on the TV, so being the ever prepared mum I bought some. They are like a nappy but in a mat form. I did not use them when Jack was small, due to the price, but I now have to take two with me everywhere after we had a little accident on a friends carpet !!

The changing mat that I had was just too small, and as Jack would now prefer to be on his tummy and crawling, rather than on his back having his nappy changed for 2 minutes. I felt that I cannot have him piddling on anymore carpets, regardless of the price of the mats !! So far he has not piddled on them, so they can be re-used. They are absorbant and have a waterproof backing, I take 2 with me just in case, as Jack can roll for England !!

They are a bit of a luxury but well worth it. You can buy 2 different sizes, normal (24 pack) 60 x 60 cms and large (14 pack) 90 x 80 cms. They can also be used under bed linen, overnight for children over 12 months, but they do advise that babies under 12 months are supervised during use, due to risk of suffocation. I think they will be great for potty training and also when Jack is perhaps learning to feed himself snacks etc.

I still have the one that I got in my bounty pack! I do take it everywhere with me though, just in case!! One day I might even take it out of it's wrapper!
