Advantages: Easy to pull up.
Disadvantages: Very saggy, Confusing which way around to put on, Leaked with a dirty nappy, Expensive.
The older she gets the more of a monkey she gets. Scarlet Ela may only be almost 16 months old but she is a right little madam on times and can certainly have almighty temper tantrums.
These tantrums often happen when she is having her nappy changed and getting dressed making these times more and more difficult. For the last 15 months I have used various Nappies trying to get the best ones to suit her and have always settled for Pampers Active Fit.
Now though it was time to try something which would make changing times abit easier. A friend suggested pull ups for me and has used them with her son since he was about a year old. I thought I had nothing to lose so on my weekly Morrisons trip I picked up a packet.
I paid £13.00 for two packs of 62 as they were on offer this paticular week as they do seem quite expensive. Mu Mum usually picks up Scarlets Nappies from Asda for me with two boxes for £18.00 but I was running out before her next Asda shopping trip. I started using them the next day.
Oh my gosh which way around do they go? If I can't master this there is no way my partner is going to be able to. I put them on, took them off, turned them round and tried again. Which ever way they went it just did not look at all right. Poor Scarlet has a major buldge in her jeans now because I am sure Mummy still has them on backwards. I know I am a first time Mum but surely I can't be that stupid!
Right I thought which ever way around they go they look the same so on went her trousers and off she went to play. Any builder would be proud of the saggy builders bum she has in these pull ups. I laughed out loud when I saw her waddling around the room with her little peachy bum hanging out (even tho she hadn't had a wee in them yet).
Maybe it was because I had put them on wrong that this is happening. So I turned them around but again she had the ultimate builders bum. It seems like I spent all day pulling them up for her. When she did finally have a wee the Nappy was down around her ankles. We did not have any leaks when having a wee but when it come to changing a dirty Nappy I knew these definatly weren't for us.
It was just everywhere. As the nappy was hanging so low it just all slipped out the side and all over her trousers and down her legs. Poor Scarlet baby. I had to strip her off and bath the poor monkey.
I thought these Easy ups would have been fantastic as they are produced by Pampers, a very reputable company and we already use Active fit which we find amazing even if she sleeps a twelve hour night. There was no way I was going to try her through the night in these easy ups.
I was hoping that they would also be able to prepair her for potty training and getting used to pulling up pants but I gave the rest of the pack to my friend who loves them, I couldn't even imagine trying to use them again when she is ready to potty train as I wouldn't recommend them. We only tried them for a day and went straight back to Active Fit.
Summary: Never again will I try these.
