Advantages: Easy to use, excellent value for money, sealing tape on back

Disadvantages: none

My son is 5 and a half and used Huggies Pull-Ups when he started potty-training. I love the idea of disposable pull-on absorbent pants and found them a wonderful invention. Although they are too expensive for frequent changes.

My daughter, Emma, is just 19 months old. She has cerebral palsy and can be very tricky to change on occasion. I am disabled as well, and find that laying Emma down for a change very painful, especially now she is so big.

I never liked Pampers nappies. Alexander was allergic to them and always developed a terrible rash. When Emma was born she was a Huggies baby as well. I was still very suspicious of Pampers and found that they leaked on the few occasions when I did use them on her.

However, I gave them the benefit of the doubt when the Easy-Up pants were introduced. They looked like Pull-ups but seemed more absorbent. In effect they were full-blown nappies with the convenience of Pull-ups. Since they were on special offer at Tesco's I thought I had nothing to lose in trying them.

They are wonderful! Emma found them easier to wear, and changing her became less painful for me. I also found them excellent value for money. The training pants come in packs of 14 or 15 but Easy-up pants come with several more for the same price. The economy packs are even better value as they have about two weeks worth for just £9.00.

Removing the pants is also great as they rip at the seams effortlessly and neatly, allowing you to spend minimal time removing the soiled contents from your child's rear end. If you've ever experienced nappy rash, you will understand the benefits of minimising soiled contact with your child?s rear end. The strategically placed sealing tape on the back of the pant is also a god-send, helping to keep unsavoury contents where you want them... in the nappy. Just rip, wipe, fold and stick. The nappy can then be placed in a nappy bag and bin or a Sangenic container.
Quick, easy and hygienic.

Granted, nappies are useful when your child is wearing trousers or tights, but a toddler feels independent. They like to be on two feet (even if they are wobbly or weak on one side) and I find that Emma is more patient during changing when she can stand up to get dressed. She isn't ready for potty-training yet, but she is getting good practice. Mummy pulls on her knickers, so why shouldn't she?

Recently Pampers have been doing a "£2 off this packet" promotion where you can save money on the product at the checkout. This makes Easy-ups even better value-for-money.

Emma sleeps from 7pm till 9am. When she wakes the Pants have absorbed all her urine and she is as dry as when she went to bed. If she poos then some of that moisture is also absorbed.

Easy-up pants come in 2 sizes, Maxi and Junior. They are soft to the touch and feel like real pants. They have soft seams and the legs are elasticated for a great fit. There is no chaffing and nappy rash has certainly decreased in frequency and intensity.

I would heartily recommend this product to all mums. As a disabled mum this has made my life so much easier. Being in less pain makes me less grumpy with Emma. So she is a happier child. She is more independent and feels like a "big" girl.

Life is certainly better being an Easy-ups mum.
