Advantages: A filter system keeping baby clean and dry.

Disadvantages: Bigger sizes have a tendency to fall apart !

Overall, my experience with Pampers nappies has not been so great and I tend to stick with Huggies now ( please see my Huggies review), however I think that Pampers Newborn nappies are great!

I switched to Pampers newborn after trying Huggies newborn and finding that they did not keep my babys bottom very dry.

Pampers newborn offer a special feature that no other nappy I have come accross offers- A Poo Filter!!

Inside a Pampers newborn nappy there is a special layer that seperates the wee and the poo. The layer absorbes all the moisture from the babys wee and poo and keeps it locked away leaving your baby bottom clean and dry.

I found this filter made the poo stick to my babys bottom less too, My sons bottom was never sore and changing dirty nappies was not as nasty as it could have been (although it isnt particularly a pleasent experience either!).

Unfortunatly when my son grew out of Pampers newborn and I started to use the next size up I was very disappointed because his nappies leaked and occasionally fell apart which is why I switched to Huggies eventually.

I found that I would go to change my sons bottom and the nappy would be either hanging off him or falling apart, I was definitly changing him regularly so there was nothing to blame but the nappy.

I found also some mornings when my son woke up his bed clothes were covered in the jelly crystals contained inside the nappy and the nappy had split.

I guess it is possible that maybe my son urinated alot at night, however I did not have these problems when I switched brands of nappy so I firmly believe it was the nappys fault.

Another down fall I think is that some of the Pampers nappys are a bit plastic to touch and I would imagine for a baby that is walking and crawling they might be quite uncomfortable.

On the upside, I have used Pampers training pants and they have been fine, they have nice little pictures and I have no problems with them, I use them along side Huggies training pants, they are great because the pull up and down easily and give great protection when needed, they dont have sticky tabs so your child will feel like a bit boy or girl, but they are easy to remove by just tearing alon the sides if there is a little accident.

Pampers have a website and a club for mums and expectant mums, although you dont get many freebies from them, just the odd nappy now and again or trial size packs of baby wipes, they regularly send me money off coupons for all their products and some time the coupons are for £2.00 off rather than the £1.00 off you get from most other companies.

All in all im not too keen on pampers but like evrything it has its good points and its bad points, its just finding out what suits your babys individual needs.

I have rated 3 star to take into account that the newborn nappies are great and the bigger sizes are very unreliable.

Summary: Its important to consider your babies needs as he grows rather than sticking to one brand.
