Before my son was born I stocked up on Pampers New Baby and didn't think to try any other brands. They are what the hospital uses too. I got them from Boots - 2 packs of 27 for 6 (and the free Boots Changing Bag for joining the Parenting Clue - good bargain!).

I found these to be the best newborn nappies at first as they fit well and did not leak. They are white with yellow trim and a cute picture on the front. The tabs fasten securely and they are well padded and look very comfortable.

However once LO was about 2 months old we had leaks daily, and have not experienced this with any other brand of nappy, even supermarket own brands. It did not matter how many times we changed him, he kept ending up with poo on his clothes and was often soaked through at night. I could not understand why this had suddenly started to happen, but after trying different brands I found that this only happened with the Pampers New Baby ones.

Before we encountered this problem, I found them to be really good value for money as despite being a premium brand they were always on offer for 2 packs of 27 for £6 which I thought was a bargain. The designs on them are very sweet and they look comfy when they're on, but for some reason they did not work for us. I even tried going up to the next size in case they were just too small but this made no difference.

Summary: They did not work for our baby but I know they are highly rated by most people.
