Advantages: Good fit and absorption breathable and left our son with no nappy rash

Disadvantages: would of liked the size to have gone up to about 18-20 llbs

Why these nappies
*********************
Prior to my son being born we had considered using recyclable nappies but had decided that for the first few weeks we would use disposable till we got into the swing of having a baby and had a bit of a routine. As they say the best laid plans of mice and men go astray and as both my son and I ended up in hospital for just over a week following a c section and him being in SCBU we ended up using disposables all the time.

We used some of the nappies we had bought in with us which were Pampers new born and these nappies were the ones provided for us to use on SCBU so we ended up sticking with them

What are they and in use for us
*****************************

These are a disposable nappies they have stretchy sides with tabs for you to adjust the fit to the size of you baby. We found these to be useful and we were always able to adjust the size to fit our son perfectly so that they were never so tight he got red marks or so loose they leaked

The front of the nappy has as with all Pampers nappies a cute animal character on it. This is just a cute feature and my son has never really paid any attention to this on either these nappies or future nappies we have used with him.

They claim that the nappies are breathable like cotton for your baby and they are certainly breathable in my opinion. This appears to help reduce nappy rash and redness. We found using these never resulted for our son having nappy rash but when we tried the Huggies equivalent he got a red bottom within a few nappy changes so we stuck with this brand as it seemed to suit his skin better.

Pampers claim to have a unique dual absorbance system that absorbs not only urine but the soft stools that pre weaned babies have. I would have to agree with this and we found that the soft yellow stools that our breast fed son produced were very well absorbed with this nappy. However after the 3 month period he did as some breast fed babies do go for several days without a producing a poo and then once a week would have what can only be described as an explosion! These nappies tried their best to cope with this but would produce some leakage. This I personally think was not a deficit in the nappy absorption as the amount produced by our son on these occasions would generally result in a bath for him and I don't think any nappy on the market could have coped with the rapidity and amount produced!

The size ranges took him up too him being about 15 lbs in weight which I personally I would of liked to see go slightly higher as we ended up transferring him to the baby dry nappies a little bit sooner than I would have liked.

Overall
************
I would definitely recommend these nappies for new born and babies less than 6 months. They perform well and we really had no issues with them. I would recommend that you join the Pampers baby club and then you can get a few money off coupons for these nappies. They are available in most supermarkets and chemists such as Boots the prices do vary. For a large box of 70-80 nappies cost in £12 but they are frequently on offer

Summary: A great Nappy for new born babies and children under 6 months
