Advantages: They are nice and soft and dont leak
Disadvantages: None for us
When Jayden was in the Special Care Unit for a week, to a certain extent they provided some of the equipment you needed, however they did like you to bring in your own nappies, however if you did run out they had a supply of them there that you could use, the brand that they used were Pampers New Baby. As well as using these in hospital we also had several packets of these nappies at home as we had stocked up on nappies leading up to Jayden's birth. I was pleased to give these a try in hospital before opening the packets I had, however I was extremely impressed with them and have since purchased a few more packets of these.
Packaging
The Pampers New Baby nappies come in a plastic type wrapper, the front of the packet is half green with the Pampers logo at the top and "New Baby" written in the centre in a yellow oval, the right hand side of the front of the packet is taken up with a picture of a mother and her baby. The only other information on the front of the packet is the size of the nappies, the amount in a packet and the words "Dry Max" written in the middle in a blue circle. All of the main product information is on the pack of the packet, this is half green and half yellow. In the centre of the packet is a picture of a nappy stretched out, there are then small notes written around it pointing to different parts of the nappy explaining what they are, there is also a small sentence at the top of the packets explaining the Dry Max writing on the front of the packet. The packet has a clear plastic handle on top of it so you can easily carry them, the packet fits tightly around the nappies inside making it compact and easy to store.
The Nappies
The Pampers New Baby nappies are plain white with a yellow strip around the waist, on this yellow strip is a cute picture of 2 ducks and a baby Elephant, there is also a small Pampers logo, the design on the front of the nappies is definitely unisex. The nappies are made from breathable and soft cotton this is ideal for your baby's skin and makes them much more comfortable to wear and as the back of the packet states the inside of the nappy is specifically designed to absorb soft poop. The legs of the nappy are stretchy making them a good fit and also means that the nappy can move with your baby without them leaking. The Pampers New Baby nappies fasten in the same way that most nappies do, there is a small yellow tab either side of the nappy which sticks to the waistband, the sides are super stretchy and these tabs can be overlapped and stuck so that the nappy will fit a small baby, when we first put these on Jayden we did actually have to overlap the tabs just so that they would fit him, however they can also be fastened in the regular way to fit slightly bigger baby's, the tabs can actually stick to any part of the strip around the waist so they are designed to fit baby's of all sizes.
Price & availability
Pampers New Baby nappies are available in most supermarkets as well as shops such as Superdrug and Boots, we purchased our Pampers New Baby nappies from our local Tesco. The packet of 27 nappies that we purchased cost us just £3.00, we also had coupons for this product as well so we got them even cheaper. The Pampers New Baby nappies do come in larger packets, obviously these are slightly more expensive however they are still reasonably priced. Generally I would say that the Pampers New Baby nappies are excellent value for money, the amount of time a packet lasts varies however they are quite reasonable to buy.
Sizes
Pampers New Baby nappies come in a variety of sizes which are all indicated by a number and refer to you baby's weight

* Size 2 - Mini
* Size 3 - Midi
My Opinion
As I have said I was extremely impressed with these nappies after using them on Jayden in hospital, I have used them on and off now since he was born and every time I have been pleased with them. I particularly like the way you can pull them tightly around your baby's waist, this was especially handy for me as Jayden is a small baby, the next size down nappies would have been to small for him, although these ones were a little bit big, I could easily pull them tight around his waist and they securely fastened and stayed in place. The other thing I liked about these nappies and one of the most important is that they do no leak, they are described as being super absorbent and they definitely are, so far we have not had the nappies leak at all, also when I remove Jayden's nappy his skin never feels wet, any moisture is absorbed into the nappy and away from his skin helping to prevent nappy rash. These nappies are very good value for money, they are reasonably priced, for me they were even cheaper as we have coupons for this product. I will definitely continue to use this product and would recommend it to anyone to try on their baby, these nappies really are of an excellent quality.
