Advantages: Contains wet and dirty nappies, comfortable for child, offers usually available, easy to use.

Disadvantages: Bad for the environment.

We started using Pampers for my son when he was born, and found them to be good at absorbing newborn's soft poo and containing it too, until I managaged to change it. However, I changed to Huggies due to a price offer at the time, and I regretted it because for some reason the nappy did not fit properly and would leak everywhere!

I changed back to Pampers again, and started to use Active Fit, as he was a little mover in his baby gym! I found that this was very absorbent too, and moved about with him so would not move around on his body or stay in one place and cause him discomfort.

The nappy itself is made of a very soft papery substance, and has an absorbent layer beneath a soft woven material. The ingredients in the nappy are as follows; petrolatum, stearyl alchohol, paraffinum liquidum, aloe barbadensis extract.

The sticky tabs on either side are very effective; they stick well and you can take them off and put them back on several times, and they still stick.

There are usually famous children's cartoon characters on the front of the nappy to make them friendly and endearing to children. The ones at the moment include the characters from Sesame Street, but also include Disney characters.

Active Fit starts at size 3 (4-9 kg) and continues through 4 (7-18 kg), 4+ (9-20 kg), 5 911-25 kg), and 5+ (13-27 kg). They also come in various packaging, such as small packs, economy packs, and Jumbo boxes. I have seen offers mostly on economy packs, but Tesco have got an offer of 1/3 off all nappies at the moment so I got a good discount yesterday on a jumbo box!

====My Verdict====

Pampers are known for their quality products and I have found this to be true myself. They contain wet or dirty nappies in time for you to change them very effectively, or when you need it such as overnight, and also fit the body of the child very well, moving with them. My children did not have nappy rash with these nappies (although I do use a nappy cream everyday with my youngest too), so I would recommend for those not wanting to use reusable nappies.

Summary: A quality disposable nappy that does the job intended, and is soft and comfortable for the child.
