Advantages: Good packaging, available in slimline packs, nice and moist, work well

Disadvantages: THE AWFUL SMELL!!!

Despite my distinct lack of fondness for Pampers wipes (which is putting it mildly), today I came across Pampers Sensitive wipes and decided to try them. I am quite happy with my Boots baby wipes (see separate review) but I am attempting to streamline my changing bag so I have been on the lookout for a thin pack of wipe.s I have not bought one until today as they are ridiculously uneconomical as often the 15-wipe packs work out the same price as a full price 60/70 pack when you take into consideration the BOFOF offers that are always on regular size packets of wipes and I just couldn't bring myself to waste money like that (I save my moneywasting for buying shoes and clothes I don't need!). However today I was in the £1 shop and found 2 thin 15-wipe Pampers Sensitive wipes for (yes, you've guessed it!) A POUND! For that price I decided I would take a risk...If I hated them I was sure I could manage as they are only for the (now very rare) out-and-about nappy changes.

I would just like to say to those who have read my baby product reviews, I am not a £1 shop regular, I went in looking for a joke present ages ago and found branded baby toiletries very cheap, so now I make a point of popping in when I pass and stocking up on these.....I don't go there for everything I buy although it may sound that way lol!

Anyway, back to the wipes.

Yes 30 wipes for a pound is not good value when you get 70 for that but the fact is they will last ages as I don't even do one out-and-about nappy change a week on average.

The pack is a very slim version of the standard packs so it will easily fit in a smaller changing bag or my handbag - perfect!

The pack is soft blue, green and white in coloir presumably to suggest softness and gentleness and reflect the fact the product is for sensitive skin. The wipes contain chamomile and aloe which are known for their soothing properties. Each pack contains 15 wipes.

You open the pack by pulling up the transparent sticky cover of a hole in the top of the pack, pull out a wipe and reseal it by sticking the plastic down. This is very easy to do and seals in the moisture.

Despite being 'sensitive' I am very disappointed that these wipes have the same harsh chemical smell of the ordinary Pampers wipes (again see separate review) which makes them seem anything but sensitive! The smell is completely removed from the lovely gentle image the packaging gives.

The wipes are nice and moist - not too wet or dry - which is ideal.

They do the job just fine (for dooyoo purposes I have just tried one at our last nappy change). However I cannot get past the smell. My hands stink of the awful chemcial scent of them and it has put me off these too. I will use them in dire emergencies when out and about but only if I can't possibly avoid it. And even despite the handiness of the slimline packs I will not be buying them again. I have rated them 2* - I would say 1* but in fairness the packaging is good and they work well it is just the awful smell they leave on everything. I could not use them on baby's hands or face or he would smell awful!

Summary: I just can't bear the chemical smell of these wipes, even if they do claim to be sensitive!
