Advantages: Almost always on offer, gentle on baby

Disadvantages: Caused irritation on my face, they also make a false claim on the pack

When I was pregnant I was given plenty of free samples of everything baby related that I would no doubt be spending a fortune on in the years to come. By the time my son arrived I had an array of pampers, huggies and boots own wipes. After his birth I preceded to try out the selection of wipes at hand, I had an extra supply of the pampers sensitive though as I had noticed them on offer at boots.

Pampers sensitive wipes with aloe & chamomile come in a pack of 63 wipes and normally are priced around £1.99 per pack in the supermarket and Boots. The important thing to note is that they are almost always on buy one get one free in Boots, if you bide your time right and stock up when they have their offer of triple points on the parenting section as well you are onto a real winner with the cost.

I keep my wipes in the pampers plastic dispensing box I was given in one of my bounty packs while in hospital. You can buy these boxes with the wipes but they are not really necessary as the strip where you open the wipes can be re-sealed. I always have 3 packs of these wipes on the go, one upstairs, one downstairs and one in the changing bag. The pack in the changing bag has been open for a couple of months as I done seem to need it often, the wipes have not dried out and are still as fresh as when the pack was newly opened.

On opening the wipes there is a light smell which is slightly chemical, it is very faint and not at all noticeable when using the wipes. The wipes are quite thick and strong, they do not tear apart easily. One wipe is enough if my son has just had a wee, 2-3 wipes if he has had a poo, they easily wipe everything up.

My baby has never had any nappy rash or dry skin, and these wipes have never caused any problems to him. One word of caution though, I have sensitive skin and did try to use them on my face. I found that they really made my skin sting and become dry. I asked my partner to try them on his face as I wanted to know if he had the same reaction, he didn't find any problem with them. Because of this I never use these wipes for my sons face, but do use them on his hands. Pampers claim that these wipes are up to 2X better balanced for your skin than plain water, they don't say what the pH is though so I don't know if that is accurate. The wipes themselves are soft to touch. They are not to wet so don't cause any mess when using them.

I use pampers wipes as they are gentle on my baby and because I found them better quality than Huggies or Boots own. Read the ingredients though, they state on the front of the pack "alcohol free" yet one of the ingredients is Benzyl Alcohol!

Summary: Good quality wipes with no added perfume

I think these are quite good, they're 1.29 in my local chemist's so I buy quite a lot of them lol x
