Another review on wet wipes!
I normally go for shops own brand generally Boots own or Boots Expert (reviewed) wipes.
I didn't think I'd find another wipe as soft as Boots Expert wipes until I used these Pampers Sensitive.
A few months ago while in Tesco I saw these wipes on offer at just £1 for 63 wipes. For a brand name £1 is very good value for money and so I decided to try these. I have never really used any Pampers brand before so I didn't know what to expect from them.
The packet is white all over which is a Sensitive type of colour I guess, with the Pampers logo boldly placed at the top of the packet giving it some colour.
On the front of the packet it says Pampers Sensitive aloe and chamomile.
The back of the packet has information written all over it, in quite a small print so it is hard to read.
When I went to read the packet I couldn't see what it promises to do, in fact I found little information about the product compared to all the writing.
There are a couple of words about the wipe then it's translated into many different languages, which is good but it could do with more information all round.
When I came to use the wipes I peeled off the sticky tab and went to pick out a wipe.
I pulled a wipe and 1 came out nicely, the wipe underneath popped up a little so if you needed more than 1 wipe at a time you could easily grab it with one hand.
As they are nice and easy to get out, don't leave them in reach of the little one! Before you know it half the packet is empty and wipes are everywhere!
At first I got a whiff of scent, even though the wipes claim to be perfume free. It is a very mild baby smell which is possibly the aloe & chamomile, I think it's pleasant and when you actually sniff just 1 wipe you can hardly smell anything.
The wipe itself is white in colour and smaller than Boots own wipes. It's very moist with cute butterfly's printed into the wipe.
Now is it as soft as Boots Expert? I think so, unfortunately I don't have a packet of Boots Expert wipes to compare them. But these Pampers wipes are lovely and soft, they feel very gentle to the skin and are not rough! They are reasonably thick although not as thick at Boots Expert but I don't see that as a problem.
Even though the wipes are smaller than some others I have used, they wipe away mess brilliantly.
They absorb wee very well and even though they are a moist wipe they don't leave to much residue behind which makes it alot easier to apply nappy rash cream.
When it comes to a messy nappy, they are very good at getting poo off but, as you have to use more then 1 wipe I find it does then leave the area a bit to moist. So having a towel or something to dry baby off with is needed to stop nappy rash appearing.
As they are soft it doesn't seem to aggravate the delicate skin of the little one and when wiping away wee or poo the wipe glides across their skin leaving it nice and fresh.
Even on slight nappy rash the little one hasn't made a fuss so they must find it pleasant to their skin.
I have used these wipes on the face too. Most babies & toddlers hate having their face wiped, especially when they have something hard to get off around their chops. Bean juice is one that I hate, again these wipes are brilliant at getting the orange dried juice off.
One wipe does the job unlike Tesco's when I had to use about 2 wipes.
It was very soft on the face and where the little one gets dribble patches on the chin during teething, the wipe didn't cause any further irritation to that.
I have also used the wipe on my face when I didn't have anything to hand to get make-up off. It left my face feeling clean, fresh and best of all it did get my make up off!
Overall I am very happy with these wipes and Pampers are certainly a brand I will go back to for wet wipes.
The softness is excellent for very young babies although cotton wool and water is recommended. But the packet does say 'restores natural skin balance up to 2x better than water.'
I sometimes get a little bit of eczema nothing to bad and not often but these wipes haven't effected it.
As I have said the packet has a sticky tab for opening and closing, it's very easy to pull open and sticks down well keeping the wipes fresh.
The amount of times the packet gets pulled open a day the tab is still perfect, and it's only the very end that doesn't stick down properly which doesn't affect the wipes.
The wipe I can't fault, except for leaving the skin a bit to moist after using more than 2 wipes but, this is easy to get around, it's the packet I find a bit of a let down.
It could do with alot more information about what the wipes are like and what it claims to do. I also think all the information should be in the same place on the packet instead of everywhere!
The one important claim I found about the restoring water was placed on the back of the packet and you had to move the spare bit of material out of the way!
But overall a brilliant wipe. I think I will stick to Boots Expert wipes as they are slightly cheaper, and 90% of the time on Buy One Get One Free!
But I will get Pampers when they are on offer.

I brought these in Tesco for £1.
You can buy them everywhere, but prices will vary. In Boots they cost £2.49 but are often on offer such as buy one get one free.
The packet contains 63 wipes, which are less than shops own brand.
You are meant to use the product within 3 months of opening. They are perfume free, alcohol free and dermatologically tested.
Highly Recommended- 4 Stars*
