Advantages: Gentle on the skin, not too wet, effective at cleansing
Disadvantages: ----------
My two year old granddaughter is at present cutting the last of her teeth. While she doesn't appear to have any pain in her mouth, the symptoms of her teething caused her to develop such a severe case of nappy rash that we couldn't use wipes of any brand for some weeks as even the most gentle baby wipe stung her bottom terribly.
Once the nappy rash had run its course my daughter decided to start using the wipes again but instead of buying her usual wipes she went for a packet of these Pampers Sensitive, which are designed to be used on the delicate skin of a newborn baby and also for babies who suffer from eczema or generally sensitive skin.
I am impressed with these, far more so than I usually am with Pampers wipes as normally I find them a little wet to be terribly effective and not a patch on their range of usually excellent nappies.
The wipes are of a decent size and thick enough to cope with even the messiest nappy change - and at two years old nappies can sometimes be like changing an adults bottom so effective wipes are very important at this stage! I have used two packets now and not had a single wipe rip on me; one wipe will suffice for a wet nappy and one or two will be needed for a dirty change which is certainly better than the previous packet of Huggies wipes I used where I needed at least three wipes for every dirty nappy!
They don't have any fragrance added to them so tend to simply smell clean and fresh, I can detect a very faint 'baby' scent to them such as you'd find in any fragrance free baby product but this is certainly not as strong as the likes of Johnsons.
These wipes cleanse my granddaughter's skin beautifully and I found I don't need to drag the wipe across her sore bottom to remove all traces of mess. They have just the right level of moisture in my opinion although while her skin is still sore I do tend to wipe her bottom with a dry towel after cleansing as it's so important to keep baby's bottom dry while they are suffering from nappy rash. The worst of her rash has gone now but she has been left with a red bottom which while not particularly sore for her now is still tender to certain products.
She doesn't as much as whimper when I wipe her bottom with these Pampers Sensitive yet when I accidentally picked up the green packet of Pampers wipes yesterday she flinched a little when I wiped her clean. This I think demonstrates how kind these are to her skin compared to other wipes, although personally I don't know why they don't make all baby wipes to be especially kind as the nappy region is such a very sensitive area when children are so young.
I bought my packet of wipes in Asda and paid £1.72 for 63 wipes, which is about average for baby wipes in my experience. I shall stick with these for a while as they are so kind and gentle to my granddaughter's skin that it seems a fools errand to change the wipes again, although hopefully the stubborn little madam will be potty trained soon so wipes will become a thing of the past!
Summary: If your baby has particularly sensitive skin definitely try these wipes.
