Advantages: you save money

Disadvantages: irritate your baby's skin and cause nappy rash

This new economy nappy that they have labelled "Simply Dry" is a cheaper version of the "baby dry" nappy and when you cut corners to make the production cheaper, then the quality of the product is bound to suffer - which I found out when I switched to the "Simply Dry" nappy.

I saw an advert on TV that Pampers Simply Dry Nappies were on offer in Morrison's for £5 for a big pack. "Fantastic", I thought and I went and bought 3 packets and was very happy that I'd made such a big saving.

Within 3 days my daughter developed a nappy rash. I didn't link this to the nappy at first and just used Sudacrem to treat it. A week later the nappy rash was so bad that I bought some Bepanthem but the next day I took her to the doctor.

Her nappy rash was so severe that it had turned into thrush and she was suffering from a bacterial infection caused by the ammonia in her urine. The "simply dry" nappy was not keeping her dry.

I compared the "simply dry" nappy to a "baby dry" nappy and the texture of the simply dry nappy is different. It's more coarse and rough and this had obviously irritated my daughter's skin.

I have now gone back to the baby dry nappy and it's taken over a week for my daughter to recover.

Thankfully Morrison's gave me a refund.

Don't buy these nappies. If you do buy the nappies then use a barrier cream to protect your baby's skin. If you are looking to save money then use the Tesco baby dry range. I trialled these for a market research company last year and they were just as good as Pampers Baby Dry.

Summary: A poor quality nappy and to save a few pounds its really not worth the buy.

Oh my goodness, what an appalling result your poor daughter had to suffer from these nappies. I'm glad to hear she's getting better now, I should write to Pampers and complain as that is absolutely disgusting.
