Advantages: Very lightweight, good stretch

Disadvantages: Give nappy rash, swell up too large

We had a Pampers voucher that needed using and we found that when used with Simply Dry they worked out cheaper than the regular Tesco variety, so we thought it would be nice to treat our baby boy to what we believed would be the luxury of a brand name.

They are thinner and lighter than any other nappy I have seen, I first thought this was a good thing as would ensure extra comfort and mobility for my son; however, they moment he wets, they expand more than any other nappy meaning they need to be changed more often. The stretchy elastic is a nice touch and there is a cute design on the velcro strip.

I am absolutely dedicated to preventing nappy rash with my son at all costs. I use cotton wool and soapy water, hardly ever use wipes and always apply a thin layer of barrier cream. I also use non-bio washing powder or soap flakes. Up until the past couple of weeks (he is now 6 mths) there has been no soreness. I have noticed that since using Simply Dry that he has been getting red and sore front and back. The only time I can see them coming in handy is that they are lightweight enough to slip in your handbag for emergencies.

We have returned to using Tesco's own brand and are alternating with Simply Dry to use them up. My son's skin improved almost immediately. We will not be purchasing Simply Dry again in the future unless it is an emergency. We have bought some of their Simply Clean wipes and hope that they do not cause us any further problems.
