Advantages: stay dry

Disadvantages: price

Having tried the full gamult of nappies, I feel I have a pretty good grasp on the whole nappy world.

Nappies are basically there to 'keep in' wee and poo that belongs to your baby. It keeps it in from a bed, or clothes, depending on where they are.

Pampers nappies are around three time the price of, say Asda's own. We use supermarket's own brands for our boys in the day, but Pampers at night, and here's why.

The cheap nappies tend to work for a short period of time, but will fail you overnight if your baby wets. By morning the bedding will be wet. Not so with Pampers. These nappies are very absorbent, and do not leak at all in our experience. Not only that, but the wee soaks away from the baby, so their skin is in better shape than if they had a cheaper brand. You also don't get the little crystal things all over the baby like with the cheap brands.

To look at, Pampers look a bit better than the cheap ones too. Sure, they're basically the same, with the same sticky labels to fix them, but a lot of the pampers range are covered in cute pictures to make them look a bit nicer than the bland ones. I suppose it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but it is something I noticed.

So, my advice is to do what I do - use supermarket's own in the day, and change the nappy regularly, but when it comes to the through the night nappy, go for Pampers.

Summary: do it
