Advantages: soft, strong

Disadvantages: leak , come up a bit big

Hi, my daughter came out of hospital with our beautiful grandson (well all babies are beautiful to me).Anyway more to the point as any new mum knows trying to find the best nappy and quite fast is a task in itself.

My daughter tried the newborn pampers. The baby weighed in at 7lb 9oz so an average size. She found the pampers nappies in tesco's and purchased them. The came in a variety of different sizes. Her packet was a green/ble colour with a colourful design clear writing of pampers displayed. The nappies however were very soft. Made of many layers but, still came up a bit big and after sticking the tabs round still did not seem to hold as well. They also came undone a few times.

With the babies usual daily nappy fill! She found that it was not just the nappy being filled, but everyting that he was wearing. She thought that as they were so soft and strong that they would absorb the mess. They did not absorb the mess at all. So this meant changing of clothes and nappy each time.Very unpleasent and messy.slightly better with the urine side.

What my daughter and her partner were finding was that the mess seemed to mainly to leave from the back section up his back. On pampers they do not appear to have like a fold piece inside.

The proud parents have now given up using pampers and changed over to huggies with great joy.

No more changing all clothing everytime now.

I found it best to switch between brands at various stages, as some were better than others depending on baby's size, if they were toddling, etc.

I had the same problem too, but all nappy brands were the same for me. I never tried the new ones that Pampers now do especially for newborns

I had the same problem when my daughter was newborn, they are fine now she is older. I think Pampers realised that there was alot of unhappy people and have now made a special one just for newborns that have very soft poo. Lovely.
