Ever since my darling daughter was a week old she has suffered from terrible sensitive skin, she was prescribed oilatum for her bath and the cream which helped a lot but she has been very prone to a sore bottom :(. We have tried allsorts from sudocrem, metanium and a cream given to me from a friend callled conotrane, nothing helped and nappy changes became a nightmare for all of us, Mia would scream as soon as you came to clean her bottom - even with cooled boiled water - and it was very upsetting for us seeing her in such obvious pain and discomfort. We were told from doctors and friends to leave her nappy free as much as possible, luckily we were going through summer at the time so it was easy to do but that didn't help either! My usual nappy was either Pampers Baby Dry or Pampers Premiums so when shopping one day I was surprised to see a new product from Pampers, Pampers Sensitive! Excellent I thought and quickly bought a packet, £5.99 for 28 at our local Co-Op... Back at home I switched nappies immediately, the first Sensitive nappy I put on my daughter was just after her bath as I was getting her ready for bed, first thing next morning I changed her and the change was incredible, not only had the red burnt appearance gone from Mia's bottom but the cracked and sore skin was well on it's way to healing, looking like it had a white layer over the sore skin protecting it, we had already switched to Pampers Sensitive Wipes (for the times when we could use wipes on Mia) and teamed together with sensitive wipes, sensitive nappies and the regular sudocrem we are finally waving bye bye to nappy rash! They are very much similar to the Pamper Baby Dry nappy, they do not have the elasticated fastenings although they do fit my baby very well. They have a soft almost silky outer feel and are very absorbent, I have been using these nappies for over 3 months now and have yet to experience a leak! I guess the difference in these
Sensitive nappies are that they are unperfumed, hypoallergenic, anti-irritation and also allow extra air to circulate through the nappy. They are easily recognised in stores by there white packaging with green lovehearts and teddies on the front. The only downside I have is that we only live in a small town and only one store is currently selling these nappies, this particular store is due to close so no doubt we will have to go out of town when it does, maybe they should be more widely available... For anybody with a baby with even the hintest of sensitive skin or nappy rash I would highly recommend these nappies, for the results to be so obvious so quickly its nothing short of a miracle nappy!
