Advantages: Convienant, Company has lots of experiance with children., Excellant quality

Disadvantages: Pricey

When buying disposable nappys even books like Your Pregnancy by Bounty states that "The cheapest disposables tend to leak. Generally speaking, well known brands can work out cheaper in practice." Thats coming from a well known book that is given to every mother to be in England in their free gift pack.

Theres two main brands of disposable nappys in England, Huggies and Pampers. Both have been making nappys for many years and have a wide range of products such as Pull ups, for children who are being potty trained and like to feel more grown up by having pants that can be used like a nappy but pull up like pants. Fragranced and fragrance free wipes for convience when changing your babys nappy, and now that pampers have brought out the Sunnies Swimming pants range they both have nappys that can be used while swimming.

When my first child was born in August 1999 I bought three packs of newborn size nappys, Tescos Premium nappys, Huggies and a pack of Pampers. I thought I'd try them all to see which was more reliable and dryer. The Tesco's Premium Nappys failed straight away as they leaked from the back when my baby was asleep. I was ahving to change the nappy, vest, sleepsuit and bedding several times a day.

I then tried the Huggies. I thought that has they were so popular I wouldn't find a fault, once again I wasn't impressed. The nappy leaked a little from the back has the other had and the fastenings (the sticky tabs) were wider than those of the pampers so movement was slightly restricted and made nappy changing difficult.

Pampers on the other hand have never leaked and the fastenings are slimmer so the nappy goes on quicker and easier, with more room for leg movement. I've used Pampers ever since and haven't found a problem even with the price. At £5.65 a pack its a small price to pay for something that works and does as it says.

The nappys do leave the babys skin dryer than its compet
itors and my son's never had nappy rash. The wipes are available in lightly fragranced, fragrance free and sensitive. The fragranced wipes clean perfectly and the lotion is neither oily nor soapy and has a powdery baby like scent.
Theres also some new wipes called Sunnies UV Wipes which are wipes that contain UVA and UVB filters that help to protect the skin from sunburn with a Sun Protection Factor of 30.

They also make a disposable mat for changing baby's nappys on which I haven't yet tried so can't really comment on.

All nappies leak. Sometimes it is very diffcult to work out when to move to the next size. Leaking would indicate the baby has out grown this size and needs to move onto the next size up.
leaking from happens due to several factors. (1) How much food and drink eaten. (2) Was the nappy fitted correctly (My son moves so much when changing nappies) (3) Length of time passed between nappy changes. (4) Movements of the baby.
Now a days the supermarket brands are as good as Huggies and Pampers.

Good review - they are a tad on the pricey side though!
