I first bought this seat with my first son when he was 6.5 months old and sitting up - I have since used it for my other son who is now 16 months and no doubt will be using it again when my new baby (due in Feb) is sitting up. I can honestly say it was a godsend. I have always suffered from backache (family history gos wayback!) and found that as soon as my sons were in a "big bath" I was usually in agony after supporting them for so long as they splashed and played away. Like I said I bought this at 6 months and he was never scared of going in it, enjoyed the added freedom if anything. They both loved the fact they could throw their arms in any direction (and water!) and not fall over, this chair also swivels but neither of my children ever bothered with that and they were fine when it came to letting them go in the bath and out of the seat...

The only slight problem I found with this seat is if you have quite a stocky baby getting them out occasionaly their legs would rub on the front bar but you can work around that and I would definitely recomend it even if you dont get backache its a very handy thing to have...
