Advantages: None that I have found

Disadvantages: Oilatum users beware!!!

I have owned one of these so called 'safety 1st' seats for some months now, and in my the words of Jim Royle from the tv show 'safety 1st my a**e!!!' This seat in no way inspires me to any sense of safety. Of course young babirs and children should never be left unattended in the bath, EVER. Yet this seat promotes a sense of wellbeing and that you can have your 'hands free'. Not so, as I found out the hard way.

My son being eleven months old is quite wriggly in the bath now and has been for some time. Obviously leaning forward towards toys is a favourite. You would think in this seat that would be fairly safe? If you do your wrong. Our seat fails every time if any weight is bore on it and the suction pads come loose resulting in baby upturned with a seat round his waist if your not careful. Leaving one screaming baby and a mum having a coronary!!

No matter what I try, this seat will not stick properly. The cause? My son suffers from eczema and I use Oilatum in the bath as well as baby oil. The greasy residue this leaves would appear to be too much for our valient safety seat. No where in the instructions can I see any mention or warning of this problem.

To be fair I still sit my son on it as the base is not as slippery as the bath, but I wouldnt trust it as far as I can throw it (and being a iddy biddy liddle weed, thats not far!!) I have to hold the seat in place whilst my son plays with his bath toys, so it does not serve to free up my hands!! Come on manufacturers, how many thousands of babies suffer from eczema??? This must be a recurrent problem in so many households, lets design something a little more durable. Lets just say that if I knew when purchasing this seat what I know now, I wouldnt have!!!

I find most baby products based on suction useless, product designers obviously don't test them on big strong bubbas like mine! Good op.

I have this seat and its only just recently ive had problems. Lucy is 9 mths and she leans forwards in the seat. As we have some non slip fish shapes in the bottom of the bath, the back suction pads come unstuck. Twice now Lucy has gone head first in the water.Ive had to take the non slip fish off the bottom of the bath so I can still use it.opppps rattled on! Good op and something people should be aware of
