My baby boy has always loved his baths, even from day one. Since I have 2 other small children, I often bath them all together. This was easy when he was small and just laid there and let you bath him but when he reached about 4 months and wanted to sit up bathtime became a lot harder...........until my friend gave me this seat.

The seat itself is made from a hard blue plastic. It has a high(ish) back to offer support, a ring that runs all the way round to hold the baby in and a bar that goes in between the legs. On the front of the seat there are 3 what I would call beads that spin around that are supposed to keep the child amused. On the bottom of the seat there is a suction cup to hold the seat still in the bath and also a lever that can be used to rotate the seat.

In theory the seat is great.......but........My son found it very uncomfortable until he could sit properly as he used to slouch and the back rest used to dig into him and the bar in between his legs caused him rather a lot of discomfort! When he could sit properly at around 6 months he loved it because he could splash around to his hearts content and I could do all the things I needed to without having to sit him back up or keep him supported.

When my son was about 8 months old we had a rather scary experience with the seat. We were doing all the usual bathtime stuff and he was loving it. He reached lightly in front of him to get a toy out of the water and the seat tipped up. Luckily I got him out of the water very quickly and no damage was done but I have never used the seat since.

My son never really played with the beads on the seat as he always prefered "big kids" bath toys and found them rather boring, but I suppose other children may like them.

I am very glad that I did not go out and but this seat as I only used it for about 4 months and even though it made bathtime slightly easier for me, I feel that my son did not enjoy himself as much
as he could have done due to the discomfort it caused. Like I said earlier a friend gave me her seat but I have seen them in the Argos Catalogue for around £9.

I have never really had to clean the seat as it has always seemed to be clean after use but I have had to give it a wipe if my little one has been a little sick. I imagine if a baby did have a little accident in the bath it would be very easy to clean, but as this has never happened to me - touch wood - I cant be sure.
