Advantages: Makes bathing easier.

Disadvantages: A bit slippery when wet

We used a bath support when my son was younger, but as he got more mobile and fidgety, my husband and I decided to bath with him. He loved the freedom and was able to splash about as much as he desired, while playing with his many bath toys. The problem is, it takes 2 people as I wouldn't dare try to climb in whilst holding him. I am going back to work soon (boo!) and as I'll be working evenings, my husband will be bathing our son himself. We needed something he could sit in and still play.

We purchased the Safety 1st Swivel Baby Seat last week from John Lewis for £8.95. The seat comes pretty much together, only needing the activity rail and this takes secionds. It is made of a very light royal blue plastic, the activity rail is yellow and has 3 large rings. There are 4 suction cups on the bottom of the seat ensuring it stays attached to the bath, with release tabs making it easy to remove it. The seat swivels 360 degrees or has a locking mechanism to secure it to the desired position.

As I said my son loves bath time, so we thought he would love this. The first time we put him in it, he started crying. He could no longer reach the water to splash it and didn't have the freedom he had when bathing with us. However, we perservered and the second bath went much smoother, although we did fill the bath higher than recommended so he could reach the water easier. The third bath went fine, so I think he just needed to get used to it.

There are a few complaints, like the seat is a bit slippery to sit on. Although, with a flannel under him it's fine. Another is the activity rail, it is pretty pointless to be honest. The toys on there aren't very good and my son ignores the fact they are there. The third is it slightly scratches my son's legs when we get him out, but they have disappeared by the time he's dressed.

Overall, it is a good product. It makes bathing him easier with one person, but like most things it has it's faults.

Summary: Not a bad product
