Advantages: works a bit

Disadvantages: nut squashing

This is the second baby bath seat I've reviewed this week, and all I can say is 'how hard is it to make a good baby bath seat?' You can see from the picture what this is all about - a framework seat holds your baby up so you can have two free hands to wash them. The coloured blocks on the front are there to keep your baby entertained (yeah right!), and the chair has four suckers on the bottom to stick it to the bottom of the bath.

OK, first off, this isn't THAT bad. It sticks to the bath solidly, which is good, and holds your baby pretty well, leaving your two hands free to wash them. There are a couple of problems though:

1) There's a fair bit of room in the seat, making it likely for the baby to slip forward into the bar and crush their genitals, which isn't exactly a good idea. In fact, the plastic seat gets very slippery when wet, so the baby will slip and slide around in there. If your baby is pretty big, then you may be OK because there won't be much room to slide about, but ours couldn't really be left unsupported.

2) The height. Because this sits your baby upright, you need to fill the bath quite deep to get even half coverage. This isn't a problem per-se, but a reclining chair would cut down on water needed, saving money and the environment!

3) The coloured bits at the front are just a ridiculous attempt to make the item exciting - how silly of the people who made it to think this actually achieves something.

All in all, this is probably only worth getting if you've got a fairly big baby, as otherwise they'll slip and slide in it which defeats the purpose it was made for.

Summary: don't bother
