The other day in Sainsburys all their baby toiletries and wipes were half price so I decided to stock up on wipes for my twin boys. I'm not a brand snob when it comes to wipes really but I do like them to work and not irritate my boys skin. Sainsburys Little Ones wipes were just 72p half price so I bought a few packs to try them out - 72p half price seemed quite pricey to me though just for a Supermarket brand.

Sainsburys Little One's wipes come in a baby blue pack containing 80 baby wipes, or you can buy them in a white packet containing the same amount but these are unfragranced - the unfragranced ones I noticed were cheaper half price so must be cheaper at full price too. We are told on the top of the packet that these are;
Fragranced
Paraben Free
Paediatrician Approved

Sainsburys Little Ones also continue their fun, farm animal theme as we have a cute pink Pig on the packet too.

We are told quite a few specific points on the back of the packet too.

Sainsburys baby wipes have been formulated with natural oils to help protect babys delicate skin. They are;
*Dermatologically tested
*Ideal for use at changing, feeding or playtime
*Gentle enough for use on delicate hands and faced
*Paediatrician approved
*Easy one at a time dispensing
*Alcohol free
*Non Greasy
*Paraben Free

They promise quite a bit on their packets but are they as good as they sound?

To just look at a wipe I was quite surprised, I reviewed Pampers new selection of wipes yesterday and was surprised at how small and thin they were, these look much thicker and are a larger size too. They do feel soft to the touch which is promising as I don't want no rough textures aggravate mine or my boys skin. Like stated on the packet they don't feel greasy or too moist either yet at the same time they don't feel dry.

The smell is very subtle yet clean, although fragranced you can only just smell some sort of perfume it is your typical baby cleansed smell.

I have used them for changing, feeding as well as playtime.

When it comes to changing they soak up wee no problem and don't leave my boys skin overly moist or wet either which sometimes happens with wipes and can often leave them with a sore bum as their bums have been left slightly wet. Instead they soak up what they need to and wipe it away without leaving anything on the skin. They wipe with ease so no struggling to wipe anything away from my boys skin and aggravating their skin in any way. When it comes to real mess in their nappies I havn't struggled to clear that up with these wipes either they have wiped clean comfortably and my boys seem happy with me wiping them using these too.

Being messy buggers when it comes to eating I'm always having to wipe their faces and hands, I often worry about wiping their faces though as once before I used a wipe to clean around their mouths and it left them with a bit of a spotty rash so obviously affected their skin. These wipe their mouths fine and seem to be soft enough not to irritate their skin nor bring them out in rashes as well and I don't need to put much pressure on their skin to wipe away stubborn bits of food either.

They have been handy to take out and about with me too when I know my boys are going to get a bit grubby playing outside and touching things they shouldn't. The easy 'one-at-a-time- dispensing becomes convenient and quick to pop out a wipe in a moment of need and wipe their hands clean. It is just as convenient to push the plastic cover back down to secure the wipes and maintain their freshness and saves them from drying up.

I was quite impressed with these wipes but I prefer wipes with a bit more of a scent to them and their price is quite high too just for a supermarkets own, although they probably contain more wipes than some brands I still can't help but stick to Johnson's and the new Pampers Simply Clean. Purely for the lack of scent they lose a star from me but I would buy them again they just wouldn't be my first choice.

Although I wouldn't rush out to buy them again and they would not be my first choice I would reccomend due to the fact that;

*They are strong and wipe away messes with ease.
*From experience they havn't irritated any of our skin.
*For people who dislike strong scents they have a clean yet subtle smell to them.

The only disadvantages I'd say would be the price as you can buy top brands for the same price and for people like me who like a distinct fragrance they just don't have enough.

I find the unfragranced Pampers are by far the best wipes available and I haven't found any supermarket own brands that come close! The Pampers wipes are often available in the bumper packs on generous offers too x

You'd think that supermarket own brands would be a lot cheaper than 'branded' wipes! Great review :-)
