Advantages: keeps baby dry

Disadvantages: Don't look amazing

My friend mentioned in conversation the other day that she puts her daughter in these nappies at night time. I am not stuck up when it comes to nappies and I always use the shop brands but I have never even contemplated buying the 'basic' nappies because I was sure they would be rubbish. I'm always up for saving a bit of money and at just £1.47 for twenty nappies, I just had to give them a try.

The nappies come in two sizes; 4 which is maxi and 5 which is junior. Each pack contains 20 nappies and the packaging is a little off putting.

When I first opened the packaging and pulled a nappy out, I thought they looked a little cheap. The nappies have a visible outer layer that is obviously waterproof, it has that shine to it and is smooth to the touch. The next thing I noticed was that the sticky tabs were different; instead of having the Velcro type tabs that can be pulled off and moved around if you aren't happy with where you have placed them, they are like the old fashioned ones that don't stick if you get cream on them. The inside is extremely soft and looks exactly like any other nappy.

I was surprised to find that the nappy fit Noah extremely well and although I was a bit dubious that it might rub him in various places, I still thought it was worth a go. The tabs had a lot of 'play' in them and seem more flexible than I first thought and there was also a little 'play' in the stickiness' of them too. I repositioned them quite a few time and they still retained the stickiness.

On the first morning I went into Noah expecting him to be soaking wet and rubbed raw but to my surprise he was extremely dry and there was absolutely no signs of rubbing at all. His bum was dry so the nappy had kept the wee away from his skin.

I am so impressed with these nappies and the fact they can keep a two year dry for 12 hrs or more is brilliant and shows that they do the job. They don't look amazing but who cares when you are making a saving of £2.50 a pack. Yes, they do contain less nappies per pack but even if you buy two packs, you end up with five extra nappies and still save £1.

I am definitely going to be trying these on Elijah when he's big enough to wear the size 4's and would highly recommend them to anyone. If you don't like them then you've only lost £1.47 but surely it's worth that small risk because in the long run you could save quite a few quid!

Summary: A great find!
