Advantages: Keeps my granddaughter dry both during the day and night, comfortable, excellent fasteners
Disadvantages: ----------
My latest trial product from the Sainsbury's Little Ones baby range is their nappies, I always keep a packet of nappies in the bathroom for when my granddaughter visits and although I have recently been rather disappointed with both Tesco and Morrisons nappies I have found this Sainsbury's brand to be absolutely excellent.
You can buy Dry nappies and also Explore ones, I went for the Dry variety as my granddaughter drinks rather a lot during the day and also takes a bottle of milk to bed with her so I wanted a nappy which would keep her dry and comfortable through the night. The Explore range is like the Pampers Active Fit in that they have higher leg holes and a slimmer waist to enable toddlers and babies move comfortably without the bulkiness of normal nappies - I avoided this variety as my granddaughter has no trouble at all walking or running regardless of what nappy she is wearing so Explore held no benefits for us personally.
I bought the Size 5 nappies for my granddaughter and they fit her perfectly, being seemingly the same size and dimensions as her usual Pampers nappies.
The fasteners on the nappies are on slightly elasticated strips and they cling well to the nappy, I have not had one fail on me yet and even when my granddaughter decided to sit in the paddling pool with her nappy on the tabs didn't come open or apart at all despite the fact that the nappy itself ended up swollen and very, very heavy!
These nappies live up to their name and kept my granddaughter very dry indeed. During the day we are attempting to potty train her so it's only when we go out that she wears a nappy, she seemed comfortable in them and when she was wet the nappy didn't go as bulky and sodden as other supermarket brand nappies. To be honest my granddaughter does hate having a wet or dirty nappy so does ask to be changed almost as soon as she realised her nappy is no longer dry, although I am confident enough that these nappies would cope well with a child who wasn't overly concerned at the amount of time spent in a wet nappy.
During the night is obviously the big test for any nappy and these coped admirably. My granddaughter has the unfortunate habit of pooing during the early hours of the morning and this doesn't wake her unless she is already sore, so the fact that these Sainsbury's nappies don't leak either wee or poo is testament to just how good they are. The last time my granddaughter stayed the night with me she woke up and was, well, plastered (and we'll leave the description at that!) yet the nappy had not allowed any wet or mess to leak through onto her bedsuit.
These nappies are priced at £4.29 for 30 nappies which is much cheaper than Pampers and Huggies and in my opinion they honestly do do their job at least as well - and better than in Huggies case!
Summary: An excellent nappy from the Sainsbury's Little Ones range.
