Advantages: Price, Capable performance

Disadvantages: Vague Labelling, Feels thin, watch for old stock

As older parents, we are definitely cautious to the point of paranoia when it comes to purchases for our 31 month (30-35lb) daughter. And proud of it too! after all it's pretty obvious to us that, despite near £Billion profits, the supermarkets are no guardians of our (or your) family's wellbeing.

So onward. Our little 'un was preterm - only 3 and a half pounds at birth. Quite tall now but very slim - healthy, but slim. We are at the conversion stage from nappies to pants - at least for the daytime hours. At night we still need some assistance. We toyed with those night-time products but never actually bought them. For us, they appear ridiculously overpriced. Our kid was a Pampers Premiums customer and we still used them for nights until 2 weeks ago. In Sainbury's our eye was attracted to the "B2G3F" offer - not that we ever buy on price - all in all, 90 unisex size 5 (24-55lb) nappies for less than a tenner! tempting, but were we considering like for like? Sainsbury's have recently relaunched this range - new and improved - but, hey, isn't everything? Did we buy them? - Yes we did - Should you buy them? - yes you should! They cost less and perform as well as Pampers Premiums. Where they do fall down (pun intended, I need the points..) is in the "mugs eyeful" that is, they don't touchy feel as good - not as thick and not as cotton like. That said, they don't feel cheap. We haven't noticed any leakage despite the warm, restless, summer nights wriggling (and more fluid intake than normal) Wish we could have said the same for the Pampers product. What cheesed us off, though, was the labelling. The package says "Hypoallergenic" with a little asterisk* (as with anything you buy, asterisks mean "However") But no explanation for the asterisk on the package.. hmm.. not totally comfy with that! Also, the packaging shows a "printed backsheet" - little ducks in fact - yet every napp
y is plain - no ducks - could this be old stock? I'll be finding out. We are most certainly fussier than most and our conclusion is that they perform as good as Pampers Premiums for less money. Don't let brand snobbery win - give them a try - and remember, they are meant to feel thinner - as the package says "snug fit for more mobile babies"

good op - i'm reading yours backwards so it's good to see how your "dooyoo" style has progressed (not that mine ever did!) - we used to be pampers premiums snobs but realised that Huggies to the trick, you save £9 and get a nice big toybox with the bumper pack.

Hi, and welcome to DooYoo. Some peragraphs would have made the reading easier, and I'm not certain about the category, but none of us got at all right to start with! Enjoy yourself.
