This changing mat has proved fantastic for us, it is essential for any journeys where it isn't possible to take the padded changing mat and has proven to be a lifesaver in restaurants and other places where you may need to change your little one at short notice with restricted space.
We bought this from Amazon for £9.99 and immediately liked the look of it because it was so small and functional and could easily fit into a changing bag, it is waterproof and washable includes a padded baby changing mat, attachments so it can easily fit onto a push chair, pockets to hold valuables and pockets to hold baby changing essentials as well as a wipes bag.
It weighs less than half a kilo and can be folded up into a small convenient bundle which takes about one fifth of the changing bag space. It looks good, with a plasticky black and white sheen it doesn't look amazing but it will do and itsn't too garish so either parent can take baby to the loo and use it without it looking weird.
In terms of practicality, it unfolds easily, it is oversized so there is enough space for baby to lay on and we've had no problems with it, the plastic surface means any accidents can be wiped up before the mat is folded away and then you can take the item home to wash it.
This has helped ease the load on our shoulders with ridiculously large and heavy changing bags and will be a godsend when we shortly go on holiday, it is perfect if you go out for dinner and holds some nappies too, so should be the centrepiece of any changing bag. It can attach to the push chair or is small enough to go underneath it easily with plenty of space still available, I think this is convenient, looks good, is well priced and has helped make our lives a little bit easier, so is an essential and loved piece of equipment in our house.
I think this should last until at least 18 months, after that every extra day/week will be hugely appreciated, the item is available on Amazon and has generally good reviews, these helped push us towards it, I would suggest that some of the complaints are based around people buying the item when their baby is too old or that the storage pockets are irrelevant, this has not been the case for us, but I would suggest if you overstuff them you won't be able to fold the changing mat into its smallest size for carrying, test it, you should only need 2-3 nappies on a trip out, so fit as many as fit in the pocket, once its clearly too many, take some out until it fits again.
Well worth the money and a definite 4 out of 5 product.
