Advantages: Easy to use, work well, don't fall apart, reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Not very good packaging.
=== The product ===
These are plastic handles with two cotton wool buds on the two ends. They are standard really in appearance with a white wand and white cotton wool on the end.
=== The packaging ===
These comes packaged in a little plastic tray which closes down to keep the cotton wool buds fresh and clean. I do find that this type of packaging is prone to opening if it falls on the floor which is obviously quite a flaw and is something that I usually end up doing each and every time I have a tub like this which is probably why I go through so many!
=== Do these work? ===
Yes! These are ideal for numerous bodily cleaning tasks. As with all cotton wool buds it does state that these should not be used in the ear canal but I know that quite a few people, myself included, will use these for cleaning out the ears and I've never suffered any adverse affects from doing so. I also use these to remove nail polish and tidy up the design when doing intricate patterns on my nails. These can be used for numerous things really and almost any nook or cranny in the body can be tidied up and kept in tip top cleanliness with one of these.
=== Where can I buy these from and for how much? ===
These are available instore from Superdrug and while I originally ordered these with an online shop from www.superdrug.co.uk I'm not actually able to find them online. I believe I paid somewhere in the £1.25 mark around 6 months ago.
=== My overall opinion ==
These cotton wool buds are fantastic. They are well designed and hold up well together when they are in use. I tend to use these for tidying up or removing nail polish and I find that they are very simple to use. If I am using them to clean my ear or around one of my ear piercings then I will dab these in some warm water first, sometimes some salt water, and this means they are clean, hygienic and definitely don't fall apart.
I haven't had any problems so far with these falling apart and as far as I can see there aren't lots of loose bits of cotton wool coming off them. I usually find that a quick dab of warm water will stop this anyway but even used dry if I'm in a hurry they come up trumps.
The only downside to this product, for me, is the packaging which tends to get knocked over and then open up. On one occasion I lost around half the cotton wool buds as they came loose, went all over the bathroom floor and I had to throw them in the bin because I knew that they just wouldn't be sanitary.
I have used these for numerous things in the six months or so that I have had them and I love a good dab with a cotton wool bud! When I had an eye infection I found that these were just the ticket with some cooled boiled water to give my eye a little clean without worrying about spreading the germs round. I was able to just dab one end of the bud and then swap it round to ensure that no germs were moved around and I could remove some of the horrible gunk that was making it difficult to see.
Overall I am very pleased with the quality of these. The price that I paid was just fantastic and with 200 per packet they last me many months of using them for various reasons. I would firmly recommend them and would be happy to buy them again!
Summary: A fantastic packet of cotton wool buds from Superdrug.
