      Great baby accessory

This is a review of Tesco Baby Safety Buds which I have bought as part of the paraphernalia that comes with having a baby. What's special about these buds is that they are deliberately made with a wide end so you don't poke too far if you are cleaning an ear. Having said that, these are useful for lots of things and are ideal for all the family to use.

      Description
You get 60 buds in a clear plastic box which is enough to last for ages. Each bud has two ends on it but you may find yourself throwing it away having only used one end so technically there are 120 goes in each box.

      In use
The main thing I use these buds for is picking up nappy cream hygienically from the pot and using it once to wipe on my baby or toddler's bum if they are a little red and need some cream. I then discard the bud. I find the bigger safety buds better for doing this job than the normal slimline ones. Other uses are just for general cleaning, the buds can be dampened down with cooled boiled water to clean delicate areas around the eye as long as you are gentle. I have used these on my own ears (I don't go near my baby's ears with them!) and they are a good way of drying the outer ear if water has got in from washing your hair. I also use them for make up, touching up eye liner and any smudges I don't want on my face, they also work well for removing eye make up if you want to be gentle and precise around the eye area.

      My thoughts
I have long fingernails so try to avoid poking my baby or toddler's face with them as it can easily scratch their fine skin. These buds are cheap and cheerful and fulfil a multiple amount of tasks in our house from cleaning and caring for skin to cleaning nooks and crannies around the house! I have not been using these for long as I wasn't aware they existed but when you are expecting a baby you become an expert at scrutinising the baby ware shelves in the supermarket to identify all the things you may or may not need! I do find the Tesco My Babys Safety Buds are a little softer on the ends, a little more padded than the normal smaller versions too.

      Price
These Tesco My Babys Safety Buds come in a pack of 60 and cost a reasonable 44p.

      Final word
I really like these super sized cotton buds and will definitely buy them again. The pack lasts ages as well so they are super value for money. I find they help me care gently for my children in applying cream and cleaning delicate areas on the face. Pretty gross but when they had colds I was using them to remove (winding) the snotty strands from their noses and this certainly helped a two week old baby to breathe a little easier! Recommended buy, you'll be amazed at the number of uses you find for these!
