Advantages: loads of bubbles
Disadvantages: No wonder cure for a sleepless Little one
My son has suffered with eczema since he was small so has mostly had plain water baths.
As he has grown older his skin has improved and rarely even needs Oilatum cream on his skin so have been trying slowly to introduce some bubble bath and soap.
I purchased a bottle of Tesco My bedtime bath. It costs £1.18 for 400mls. I chose Tesco as apposed to Johnsons as I have heard that shop brand aren't as strong chemical wide and also Johnsons bedtime bath is £1.85 for 300mls.
The bottle is a transparent bottle with flip top. The picture the front is of a sleeping baby which is to any parent a delightful sight that draws you in.
It also lists no tears formula, helps to relax and calm, paediatrician approved and hypoallergenic. I find this pretty complicated to understand as it doesn't explain which paediatrician approved it. It does also state with lavender oil which I know can be beneficial to skin as well as encouraging sleep. This product is also not tested on animals
When you open the bottle it does have an aroma of lavender but this is not dominating like many adult versions.
I only added a small amount as I wasn't sure how my son's skin would react I was actually impressed how many bubble I got from a small squirt.
My son was actually delighted to see bubbles in the bath as it is something he has rarely experienced. We have played many games with these bubbles but his favourite is to grab a handful bubbles and clap hands. He also loves to hide his Thomas and Roley bath squirter in the bubbles and pretend they have gone. The bubbles do tend to remain throughout his bath although there is less at the end than the beginning which is better than some of my bubble baths.
Does it help with sleep? I actually think it does help in a small way the nights when does have it in his bath it does seem to be a little calmer and therefore bedtime does tend to go smother although it does not tend to have effect on whether or not he sleeps through the night.
I have been using this product for about a month and used it every other night and have not noticed any dryness or flaring up of his eczema
I also often top his bath up with hot water once he is in bed asleep and have a soak. I find that it does bubble up again and it does create a relaxing bath.
I do recommend this Bubble bath not as a miracle cure for sleepless little ones but for long-lasting bubbles and to enhance a relaxing bedtime.
Summary: plenty bubbles for a fun bathtime
