I dread to think how many nappies I have got through since my first child was born 7 years ago and my second son is not yet showing any inclination to give up his nappies! When my first son was born I decided to use a mixture of disposable and cloth nappies. I shunned the cheaper own brand nappies in favour of the brand leaders Pampers and Huggies. When my second son arrived I am ashamed to say I switched to totally using disposables as I had less time to wash and dry cloth nappies. When my son was about 6 months old a friend recommended I try Tesco’s super fit nappies and I have bought them ever since.

The product
***********
Tesco super fit nappies come in sizes from newborn (including premature) through to extra large for toddlers weighing 55 lbs plus. At present I buy size 4+ for babies from 20-44 lbs.
The nappies have a partly stretchy elasticated waist and stretchy tapes. I think they are very similar in feel to both Huggies and Pampers. The legs are also elasticated for a snug fit.

Like the brand leaders they have are soft inside and are designed to keep wetness away from the baby.

Tesco nappies can be easily recognised by the purple and green packaging. The latest pack I bought has a magician’s rabbit on the front to represent the new magic dry layer. The waistband has a panda in a train or a rabbit on. I can’t say I noticed any difference in the performance of the nappies however!

The pack I buy contains 32 nappies for £3.84, which works out at 12p per nappy. Both Pampers and Huggies work out at 17p per nappy for the same size. Although this isn’t a huge saving I actually think the Tesco nappies are superior

The verdict.
**********
I am really pleased that I switched from the brand leaders. The Tesco nappies seem to fit my son a lot better both around his waist and around his legs. The tapes always remain secure, unlike Pampers, which seem to have a habit of becoming unstuck with disastrous results! The packaging claims that Tesco super fit nappies are designed for active babies and they always seem to stay in place no matter what activity my son gets up to.

I use these nappies both for day and night time wear and they have never leaked.
If you are using disposables then I would say give these a try, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

The only ones that didn't leak on Katie were Pampers, I am afraid!

Sound good. I don't have babies yet but work with special needs children, some of which wear nappies - the only ones i ever use are horrible, leakable ones....i wonder if i could get Enfield council to switch supplier to Tesco?
