Advantages: they are just as good as the well known brands

Disadvantages: none so far

my daughter fits just happily into the size 4+ and previous to trying the Tesco's nappies we had been using Pampers. Not that we really bought them, my dad went to France and brought back a stack of them as they are cheaper in Europe as i believe you dont pay tax or duty on them. Either way this seemngly endless supply finally ended we set off to do our shopping and expected to buy the same as we had been using.

When we were confronted with the choices available, i have to admit i was very naive, there is a huge price difference between superstore own brands, and the trusted Pampers (£8.98 for 54 Pampers and £6.97 for the same amount of Tesco's own) . We usually use alot of own brand products at home for our stable and basic needs and they always do the trick just as well as leading brands. Although of course us parents want the nappies to stay in place, not rub, have high absorbancy and to last a night without leaking. So we werent sure if own brand would quite be up to the job especially as our daughter drinks gallons of water a day (dont worry she's fine she just likes her drinks as i did when i was little!) and produces some heavy nappies very quickly.

So we bought one small pack of Pampers and the large economy pack of Tescos and decided to give them a go, and if they failed with had the others as back up. The nappies have a lovely little design on the front so as to tell daddy what way round the should go (these nappy companies have got it spot on haven't they) and the edges are not sticky but like tiny velcro bits so as to fasten the nappy together. I would say that these nappies seemed bigger in size than the Pampers which was designed for the same weight, so that might be something to bear in mind if your little one is somewhere in between two sizes.

So she had the nappy on and after 2-3 hours it was ready for changing, exactly the same as the Pampers, no leaks beforehand and no rubbing or redness that i could see. That night we put her in one of these Tesco's nappies but i have to say i wasnt hopeful, i could see myself changing her at gone midnight. So i was very surprised when i awoke to chattering coming from her room at 7am and on inspection the nappy had not leaked at all. To me that is the total test, if it can last the night, and its never failed us yet. She still has no rashes or any rubbing which is wonderful as shes a lively little thing and we thought these may rub her thighs raw.

My advice is, if your buying branded nappies, save yourself a couple of quid and get down to Tesco's as they are just as good as long standing favourites.

Summary: save yourself some money, you will be surprised

I need to buy nappies today and I wanted to know what tesco ones were like, thankyou for your review, I will do what you did and buy a small pack of pampers also, I seem to go through so many nappies and I hate paying the high prices for them.
