Advantages: GOOD SIZE, NICE AND STRETCHY, COMFORTABLE

Disadvantages: THE OUTSIDE OF THE NAPPY IS ROUGH TO TOUCH AND RIGID

I am or was what you would call a nappy snob, it has always been Pampers all the way, I even turned my nose up at Huggies, I tried them once, not personally of course, but for my daughter and hated them so used nothing but Pampers the whole way, up until the time of the dreaded potty training.

So when my little boy arrived of course it was Pampers without any hesitation, I cannot fault them, they are soft to touch, easy to use, durable blah blah blah. However in these credit crunch times, and while perusing the shelves in Tesco looking for yet another pack of nappies, I saw that Tesco did there own version of Pampers Active Fit, called Tesco Super Fit. They are priced at £4.29 for 24 nappies, compared to Pampers £5.89 for 26 nappies, Pampers do 2 packs for £10, however Tesco go one better and do 3 packs for £10.

Seeing this huge difference in price, and it is huge when you have babies/toddlers who constantly need there bottoms changed, I just had to give it a go, I was extremely hesitant as I knew that they would not be the same standard or quality as a pamper nappy, the price difference gives that away, but I did it, I took the plunge, I bought one pack of 24 Tesco Super Fit nappies, junior size 5.
I wanted to try them out straight away, so as soon as I got home it was time for my sons nap, so I opened the pack and was horrified, Pampers are soft to touch on the outside and these are slightly hard and rough, they are also larger in size although both say they are for size 5 junior, I still went ahead and put one on my son, he was not bothered in the slightest, he could not care what I was putting on his bottom, I am the one who is highly strung when it comes to these things as I am the one who would be woken in the night to sort it out if it did go wrong-good old mum.

As mentioned, the nappy was slightly larger than Pampers of the same size, I found this to be a plus, as I was not having to give it that extra tug to bring the Velcro round to stick, the nappy is a lot stiffer than Pampers, so you can sometimes see the outline of it on certain items of clothing, kind of like a visible panty line but for little ones, but it isn't that much of a big deal, I only noticed because I was looking for it.
My son had his sleep and no leakages, although sleeping means he is fairly still so he hadn't put it through the ultimate toddler test, the active challenge.
My son is active verging on hyperactive, he is always on the go all day every day, he should be a nappy tester, because if these companies want to know if there nappies work he could easily put them through there paces.
I have to confess, I did leave the nappy on a lot longer than normal, because I wanted to see how much it would hold and whether it would leak, obviously if he would have pooped then I would have changed him, he was comfortable, happy and his usual bubbly active self, when I got round to changing him the nappy was extremely full, there were no leaks and it was sagging a bit but it was not cutting in or causing any discomfort. HOORAY, IT PAST THE ACTIVE TODDLER CHALLENGE.

The nappy itself is I think made of a cheaper material, if it isn't then it is put together in a different way, I would say it is almost like polyester, where as Pampers are like cotton, after a while you do get a bobbling effect on the outside of the nappy, but what difference does this make I hear you ask, well absolutely no difference to anyone, the inside lining of the nappy is still soft which means it is gentle on babies/toddlers skin, my son had no red marks which I have read that others have found to happen, I don't think this is necessarily due to the nappy, I think it is more the childs own skin condition, some are more sensitive than others.

I am not going to tell you about the packaging as I feel there is no need, there is not a huge choice of nappies out there, and it is not hard to distinguish which one is which, however what I will say is that it does state on the packaging that the nappy stretches for a perfect fit and it does this, it stretches extremely well, it allows a great fit without being uncomfortable on the child and without the nappy having to be loose. It also states on the packaging that it has is rapid dry and it locks moisture away, it does this also, when I put my son to bed tonight, his nappy was a little wet but it was not visible on the surface of the nappy and it had soaked in, this is good for babies/toddlers as it means it wont interfere with there skin making it sore.

Well that is it, there you have it, I would highly recommend this nappy, it has gone through rigorous testing, it has been through the active/hyperactive toddler challenge and it passed with flying colours. So go on don't be a nappy snob like I was, discover the joys that Tesco Super Fit Nappies will bring, ok maybe not joys, after all it is just a nappy, and it is there to serve a purpose, it is not a fashion accessory, but to us parents it is the difference of having a baby who is content, a home that is free of wee and poop (this might not be the case when they discover how to take them off, I have found a couple of unpleasant surprises left for me....).

The next step for me is the potty training challenge, oh I cannot wait, who am I kidding, I really can wait. One thing that I am looking forward to, is saving some money though and not having to constantly buy nappies, but for now I am extremely happy with saving a few pounds with Tesco, I am off tomorrow to buy the 3 packs for £10.

Summary: A GREAT NAPPY THAT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY, BUT WILL NOT MAKE YOU COMPROMISE ON QUALITY
