Nappies have continualy featured as part of my everyday existance for the last 3 1/2yrs now. With two little girls and the youngest only 18months I have literally changed thousands of nappies and I think I have tried every brand going. When my first little one was born, I was completely sucked into the marketing campaigns of the leading brands, and pretty much stuck to Pampers. When she got a little older though and I became increasingly dismayed by how much money was getting spent on nappies and began to open up to the idea of trying the supermarket own brands.

After a positive experiences and a few disappointments, I eventually worked my way round to Tesco's own brand of nappies. My previous unfounded belief was that if these nappies are so much cheaper than huggies and pampers, they probably weren't much good and I was reluctant to risk the old leakage problem...eeek! I would beg anyone who has stuck to premium nappies, just to give the own brands a try, if you find one you and your little one get along with, you really can save yourself a small fortune.

Anyway my daughter was probably about 12 months when I tried the Tescos nappies, which is well past the newborn nappy stage and everything was become a little firmer in that department if you get my drift. Therefore i can't really comment on how suitable these nappies would be for a newborn baby. For my personal experience however these nappies were perfectly adequate, they seemed to absorb really well and through using the packet I bought I encountered no problems with leakage.

The reason I only bought the one pack of these nappies, is that didn't fit my little girl all that well. It is difficult for me to say whether this is just because of her shape or because they are slightly ill fitting. I also found them a little rough in her skin around the elasticated leg holes. On occasion they made her a little sore but nothing too bad. I have to say however the main reason for me not sticking with the Tesco bran of nappies is because I have found a brand that I am 100% happy with.......Cien....found at Lidl. These nappies are amazingly great value and fantastic quality. This fantastic discovery has prabably made me a little more critical of the Tesco nappies which for me failed to tick all the boxes but are certainly a decent nappy.

The Tesco nappies i bought were a size 4 and cost £3.97 for a pack of 34.

Summary: Not a bad effort from Tesco

I switched to lidl's own brand of pull ups for my youngest son mainly for night times before he was fully dry and I would highly recommend them. Great review x

I've been thinking of switching from the Pampers for a while. Will try the Lidl ones. Thanks!
