Advantages: cheap, leakproof, many sizes

Disadvantages: .

To our shock and horror our little boy was born early, on route to the hospital!! He was 6 weeks early and very small. As he was so small some of his bodily functions didn't work too well so as a precaution he was transfered to the special care baby unit. Even though my little one was quite early he was a really good weight, he weighed 5lb 2 oz, although during his stay in hospital he did lose nearlly a pound and he came home weighing 4lb 5oz!

During his stay in hospital Dominic used the hospitals teeny weeny nappies as our newborn ones burried him. When we asked where we could buy some tiny ones from we were told to try Tesco's own brand as they have a premature range. So off we went to Tesco, not really expecting much. I usually avoid shop brand nappies like the plague as we had a bad experience with some leaking everywhere when my daughter was small.

When we arrived at the nappy aisle, we were pleasantly surprised. The tesco range of nappies was huge. They had evrything from premature size right up to training pants. They had the Tesco Ultra dry range which were in bright purple bags and the Tesco ecomomy nappies in white bags. The economy range is very limited though.

The Ultra Dry nappies start from premature size and go all the way up to junior - which is around 35lbs + I think. They have an elasticated waist band, elasticated legs and very strong fastening tapes. They are very very absorbant - although we found with Dominic as he drank rather a lot during the day and slept through the night, his nappy was quite often bulging at the seams come morning! They never leaked though which impressed us imensley

The biggest selling point for me was the price, as we are on a low income this is a big factor in what we purchse. The premature and Newborn nappies have 24 nappies in the pack and are only £2.37. Tesco also do big value packs and nappy boxes. The big value packs vary in sizes depending on the size of nappy you want
but there are between 54 and 70 nappies in these bags and they are priced at £7.64. They are on offer at the moment, buy 2 packs for £14. Bargain! I haven't bought a box of nappies before but they contain around 150 nappies and are priced at £9.99. They are only available in the larger sizes.

I no longer use Tesco nappies. Not because they weren't doing their job well or anything like that they just didn't seem to fit Dominic all that well once he became mobile. When he started crawling we noticed that the elasticated legs were making him very sore and uncomfortable, I think that this may have been down to the fact that he has legs like tree trunks though. You woudl never guess that he was such a dot when he born to look at him now!

Oh my gosh, on the way to the hospital! Both mine were two weeks late!
