Advantages: cheaper than Huggies
Disadvantages: rub, make sore as they leak and do not keep my daughter dry
I decided to try the Tesco's own training pants for my daughter. She is dry during the day and wears knickers instead of a nappy or pullups. I only put a nappy on her for long car journeys, nap and bedtimes. I had read a couple of opinions on this product saying how good they were and decided upon them instead of the Huggies pullups. They are £3.99 in Tesco compared with £4.95 for the Huggies pullups. And you get 17 in a pack. I was extremely disappointed with them. Every night when I have put her in them she has been soaking wet the next morning. She has been getting very upset as she doesn't like being wet and as she is still learning would rather be dry as she knows she gets praise for that. I have comforted her as I know it is not her fault. But they have also made her sore. My daughter is not in anyway fat and in actual fact is quite lean. But they seem to be so tight around the top of her legs that she is left with elastic marks and rubbing marks. Also as they are not soaking up enough she is getting nappy rash. I am not going to even bother finishing the packet. I will be taking it back to Tesco. They do advertise that if you are not happy with something you can bring it back. So will do that. I intend to buy the huggies ones in the future. The medium size fit her fine and do not rub or leak. For my daughters comfort I feel it is worth paying that bit more. I am disappointed as I recently found Tesco had improved the quality of their normal nappies and they were as good as the other leading brands. Perhaps they should look at the pullup training pants again.

- 01/05/01 I believe it was the large. They only seem to have one size at my tesco's anyway. I will have a look next time I am there and update you. My daughter pee's all night long too so they were useless at night. |

- 30/04/01 Which size did you use? My daughter is quite thin as well, so I was buying the medium size. However, after I wrote my opinion we had a few leaks, so I put her into the large size and the problems have stopped. I also don't use them at night as you are right, they don't cope with a lot of liquid, so are no good for my daughter who seems to be peeing all night long! |

- 13/04/01 To be honest with you Krystal I haven't seen any pampers trainers around
. None of the shops including tesco seem to have them. Huggies seem just fine though |
