Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Cheap

Last week I had my friends little boy stay overnight for the first time. She gave me a full rundown on his routine of course that was terrifying! Daunting task for sure as a single woman but I stuck to what was written down and the adorable little chappie was fine I'm happy to report though my house got trashed! lol

The one thing I wasn't looking forward to was bath-time. I was actually gonna miss it out to be perfectly honest cos I was nervous about it but by 6pm he was covered in spaghetti juice and egg yolk and smell like a gone off egg. Lets not talk about the state of his clothes from crawling all over the floor chasing my dog either ! Thankfully his washing wasn't my problem!

My friend being a mummy of course dropped off the biggest bag I've ever seen along with him and in it was everything I needed. In that bag was this baby bath. I of course used this on him and there wasn't a lot left so I kept it and have been using it on me as well of of late I have irritated skin from using to many fragranced products on myself!

The Packaging....

500ml white plastic bottle with matching white plastic lid to the top of it concealing a small dispensing hole. On the white label on the front in red and white writing I'm told it is Tesco 'Value' baby Bath 'To gently cleanse baby's skin'.

On the back of the bottle there is another white label on there and in dark blue writing all over it I'm told directions for use, warnings are given, ingredients are listed, contact details for Tesco are given along with a price promise and money back offer (if your not entirely satisfied with the product for any reason), size is stated (as I've listed already) and finally there is a bar-code on there. This is really very simple, fuss free and no frills packaging indeed. Nothing really special about it at all but it clearly is informative and states what is it and contains all the important information you need to make an informed choice of whether you want this or not.

Directions For Use....

Pour under running water.

Using It....

Well I was nervous and the first thing that baffled me was how much do I need to use and how much water! In the end I squirted quite a lot of the light blue, thin liquid into the bath and added lots of water. Smell wise, well it has a really rather delicate 'baby' fragrance to it. Very light and the more you add to the water (as I did when I decided to give it a go) you don't get any more smell just more bubbles from it. The smell although light is rather cheap smelling and weak. If you smell it in the bottle it smells like a harsh product but of course adding some to the water it loses that anyway. However the smell is only app rant for a few minutes and vanishes pretty quickly anyway.

The water goes very slightly blue (depending on the amount you use of course), isn't all that fragranced and although you get a rather generous amount of white bubbles they are bubbly rather than rich although the more the little guy splashed about in the water the more bubbles appeared much to his delight.

Swishing my hands in the water and trying to sort him out the water didn't feel overly soft but it wasn't greasy either. He seemed rather happy although I wasn't overly impressed with it that it didn't feel moisturising and the smell wasn't really there.

It rinsed out of the bath easily when I drained it leaving no dirty messy residue in my bath at all (meaning no one was going to break there neck in there next time when going to have a shower lol) and I patted him dry. No tears. No really smell. He was clean and smelt fresh but as I anticipated he wasn't wonderfully fragranced.

It didn't seem to annoy him and didn't appear to agitate his skin. His skin never felt greasy or dry just normal really. It did the job and got rid of the food that was caked on prior to his pampering session!

As I say I kept the remnants of the bottle for myself to try out. Again I poured a generous amount under my running taps, my water went quite blue as I was heavy handed and again I had a fair amount of bubbles. Again smell wise I wasn't thrilled although I used quite a bit more in my bath than I had on my friends son as I wasn't so scared to but still the fragrance couldn't be described as strong!

For an adult really it does nothing for the skin and it's simply a straightforward bath foam. I find it none irritating but it doesn't help my skin in any way shape or form although of course it does it no harm to it either. It's not a joy to bath in but it isn't a nightmare either to be fair, it's simply what it is.. an economy but mild baby bath product.

Would I buy it for my baby? No! Surely a simple pleasure in life is to snuggle up to a gorgeous baby and inhaling them but not really with this product. It's a day to day none pleasure seeking product but it does a decent job and if your broke? Well it's better than nothing at all!

Only available in Tesco and priced 34p a bottle.

Summary: Ok if your skint!
