Advantages: They're cheap, that's it.
Disadvantages: Cheap, nasty, chemical smell, thin, small, rubbish to wipe with.
I used these wipes on the baby of a friend of mine after it was the only thing that had been left in the changing bag and I was met with a nasty looking nappy change!
The wipes are currently available for 79p from the Tesco website.
I found that they were very small in size, smaller than a normal 'branded' wipe and had quite a chemical smell to them, not very pleasant at all.
They are also very thin and this means that you end up using 4 or 5 wipes where 1 or 2 of a 'branded' type would probably have sufficed.
These are definitely a false economy as you will end up using a packet every couple of days as opposed to buying the more expensive wipes which would easily last 1-2 weeks with normal nappy changes.
I also noticed that the baby I was looking after had quite a bad nappy rash and when I used one of these to wipe his face after feeding time it definitely did not agree with his skin at all.
It may seem like brand snobbery but I would definitely not recommend these at all, the packaging is hideous and the product itself is just ridiculously poor, especially as the Tesco Value products are normally quite good for your money.
The chemical smell was pretty strong and when I had used these I felt that I needed to scrub my hands afterwards.
I am rating this product 1/5 as it's not possible to give it a 0.
I would definitely recommend just using these for wiping floors or surfaces perhaps as these are definitely too harsh to be using on your delicate babies skin.
After I mentioned to my friend about the bad quality of them she confessed that her other half had brought them on a money saving drive and she didn't want to throw them out incase he got upset at her wasting money! I told her just to tell him that you can't scrimp on wiping your babies bottom as he certainly wouldn't let her buy value toilet tissue! That seemed to do the trick and happily next time I saw him he had a nice pack of Pampers!
Summary: I definitely wouldn't recommend using this on yourself let alone your baby! False economy!
