Advantages: Cheap, smell okay
Disadvantages: Not as moist as the big brands.
Like all parents when our first little one came along (and long before that come to think of it) we rushed and bought everything new. From the latest buggy to designer clothes, we got it all. By the time the second one came along our bank balance was starting to take the strain. So hand me downs and supermarket own brands became the norm.
Even though our youngest is now five years old we still have found having wipes around the house invaluable. With the top brands charging up towards £3 per pack I found myself screaming like a banshee when the little darlings pull a handful out at will, use one and throw the other dozen in the bin!
It was another of those simple brand down sizes that is all the fashion these days. Now the packaging is simple like all value brands should be. There are 80 wipes in a pack which will reseal after use to keep the wipes moist. Not that there is an abundance of moisture there in the first place. This is where the cost reduction is really noticeable. I would say that the wipe has just enough moisture, but it would have been nice to see a little more of a wetness in there. The size of the wipe is probably slightly smaller than the top brands too. The smell is okay, nothing too overpowering. The other important thing to note is that the feel of the wipe is not as soft as the top brands, but not as bad as some of the cheaper brands that I have tried.
For anyone with concerns about the ingredients, please read the label before buying, reactions in babies can flare up quickly. The ingredients are Aqua, Potassium, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, cetearyl Isononanoate, Parfum.
You can buy the same wipes without the scent, but I find for obvious reasons my kids need the scented ones. I also find them useful in the car and at work. In fact they seem to be scattered all over the place.
In conclusion, these are a reasonable wipe for use general use and for under a Pound are just right for my five and six year old children. For young babies if you can afford it, I would stick to the branded ones.
Summary: Cheap but effective wipe for those on a buget
