Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Brought out a rash on our baby, Don't clean well

I had run out of baby wipes for my 18 month old daughter, and being so close to pay day had little money spare.

I went to my local Tesco’s and bought a tub of their blue and white stripped value wipes. I was not expecting great things from these wipes as we only paid 49p for them, but later when changing Morgans nappy I noticed big red blotches on her bottom and thought maybe it was nappy rash, so put on some cream and thought little of it.

The next day we went to collect her from the childminders, who told us that she had tried to use the wipes on Morgan’s face to clean her up after a messy lunch. Only for her to come out with red blotches all over the areas which had been cleaned with the wipes! Morgan hasn’t had any reaction to anything we have used so far on her skin, and these wipes are something that we will not ever use again.

Not only did we get this adverse reaction, but they do not clean up messy nappies easily, and you feel like everything is getting spread about rather than cleaned up (sorry to be so graphic).

All in all, spend the extra £1 and go for anything but the “value” line of products, especially where a baby is concerned!

Thanks for the op. I usually use Pampers wipes, and get on really well with them. If I had the money, I wouldn't mind using the Johnson and Johnson wipes and only use them when they are on offer. I have recently used Tesco Baby soft cloth wipes which are quite good aswell. They are 'pop-up' ones, and are cheaper than Pampers, they only bad thing about them, is that they are quite wet and tend to stick together when you are trying to pull one out!:-)Xyanthe
