Tesco Baby Wipes When it comes to choosing baby products I always buy the brands that I know and trust. For baby wipes I usually buy either Pampers or Johnson's, but a few months ago this all changed when I was at Tesco doing my normal grocery shopping. I was running low of wipes so I went over to the baby department and headed to where my usual packets were. I saw a big sign saying Buy One Get One Free on the shelf, but all the packets wre gone. Apart from one lonely little one. Great!! What do I do now? It was raining outside and I didn't fancy trekking all the way up the road to Boots and the store was really busy and I didn't want to try and find a member of staff to search out the back for more. So I decided to try Tesco's own brand. There were two versions to choose from, scented or unscented. I tend to go for the fragranced ones as the scent tends to get rid of the pooey pong in the air ;p. I picked up a bumper pack of 3 x 80 wipes and tossed it into my trolley. Getting home I just caught a whiff of something unpleasant. Time to change Craig's nappy again. I got everything I needed and reached for the packet of baby wipes. The packet is quite pretty, mainly purple and pink (my two favourite colours) and a picture of a happy, smiley baby can be seen on the left hand side. The packet has one of those flip top lids that I find ideal for closing afterwards, unlike the sticky sealed ones on the market. I have lost count of how many unfinished packets of wipes I've thrown away because the flap has lost its stickiness. On opening the packet there is a freshness seal which you simply peel of and throw away. I carefully pull out the first wipe expecting to pull out a dozen more with it. Surprisingly this doesn't happen, I've only pulled out the one. This is far too good to be true. Running my hands over the wipe I'm pleased to report that it
feels very soft to the touch, very similar to Johnson's, but slightly thinner. It is nice and moist and not dry at all like other cheaper brands, and it has a lovely fresh baby smell. It smells very much like baby lotion. The wipes are a good size too, approximately 6" x 4". As I rub the wipe over my skin, it still feels soft and it's very cooling. These would be ideal for those hot days in the summer (remember them?) when you want to refresh your sweaty face. The scent of baby lotion lingers on my skin for a good while after, it's not at all overpowering, just perfect. Since when have babies smelled overpowering anyway? Ok, after a number two doesn't count. Tesco wipes have been specially formulated to take care of your babies skin leaving it gently cleansed and moisturised thanks to the added baby lotion. They have been approved by a consultant dermatologist as well, so this puts my mind at rest knowing they have been tested. And before you ask, neither the wipes or the ingredients have been tested on animals. Oh and the packaging is recyclable. This just gets better. When I use them on my baby I'm happy to say I've had no nasty incidents where my finger has gone straight through the wipe. Although these wipes are cheaper than the leading brands they are certainly not nasty. Baby wipes were the last thing on my mind when I was young free and single, but now being a mother I can't be without a packet. They are great for those little emergencies that crop up. We leave packets dotted around in a number of locations; car, bag, bathroom. You just never know when you'll need them. Now onto the all important bit. The price; Pack of 80 £2.25 3x80 pack £4.70 Travel pack £0.77 Tesco quite ofen do instore promotions and at the moment they are offering two packs of 80 wipes for £3.00. You can buy these wipes instore or online by logg
