Advantages: they keep my boys warm, and dry them off at the same time
Disadvantages: Possibly the price
Theres not much you can write about a poncho towel is there? That's what you're all thinking isn't it! I mean come on it's just a normal towel, but with a hood on, simple! But I feel I have to write this review as I needed an answer to a problem with my sons.
You see I was having trouble when bathing my twin boys, as once I'd emptied out their water (to keep them safe from falling in whilst getting them ready for bed) they were both becoming so cold and shivering like mad. Yes I could wrap a normal towel around them but I found they just dropped off them so easy with the slightest movement. I'd be busy getting one of my boys warm and ready for bed whilst my other boy would stand or sit shivering away with his teeth clanging.
My answer to this I thought would be a poncho towel!
Of course I had to buy a Thomas one so I shopped around. I found a thomas the tank poncho towel for just under £10 in the argos catalogue so I purchased 2 as Christmas presents.
A poncho towel like I've said is just a normal towel. It dries you once washed, but they have a hood on them, therefore being kept on the body properly without having to wrap and tie, and also keeping the head warm.
It stated in the catalogue that these towels are 100% cotton, which to be honest means nothing to me but it could to other people, and they are machine washable. These had to be machine washable, as I know when things are wet and become damp and left for a while they do end up smelling rather unpleasant. I have washed my boys towels a few times and they still look as good as new which is a good thing as I didn't want towels which faded and became bubbly after one wash I wanted towels which would do the job and stay looking good.
So far these towels have really been a godsend, they have prevented my boys from shivering and becoming too cold once getting out of the bath, always keeping my one boy warm whilst I get my other ready for bed and into his PJ's.
The towels themselves are lovely, a real bright blue with a big thomas the tank at the front. Perfect for any thomas fan child, or parent in my case.
I have noticed that the price has gone up to just under £13, but to be honest I think they are definitely worth the money. They are an easy and convenient way to keep a child warm, and dry them at the same time and also prevent them from losing heat from their head, which is the main place to lose it from especially when so young.
Summary: brilliant thomas towels, to keep any child warm once getting out of the bath
