Advantages: Clean, smells nice, and handy to keep in your nursery.
Disadvantages: Cutter seems quite inefficient.
We bought this nappy wrapper several months before little man was born, as it was on offer in Tesco. Not relishing the thought of traipsing downstairs to the bin with a nappy bag every time we changed his nappy, we thought that this would be a simple way of disposing with all the icky stuff quickly and cleanly.
The wrapper is simple to use and set up. You load a cassette into the top, which contains basically a long tube of wrap. You tie a knot into the top, and push it down through a tube with a catch on the end. Every time you use a nappy, push it down until it reaches the catch, twist the top and then push the package into the bin. When the bin is full, you use a little cutter on the top to cut the wrap, tie a final knot, and hey presto, the whole lot can then be taken to the bin in one go. They come out looking like a long string of sausages.
I've read quite a few negative reviews of this product (after we'd bought it), and was a bit worried that it would smell, be a pain etc. I can honestly say that it's been fine and a great help when changing nappies. The bin holds about 20-25 nappies I guess, and I haven't smelt a SINGLE bad whiff coming from it, in fact, the scented wrap makes it smell quite nice.
When you start on solids, and waste gets smellier (looking forward to that!), there is a different cartridge with stronger scent, I haven't got to that point yet, but will update when I do.
The wrapper is very easy to use, however I found the cutter on the top quite ineffective, and use a pair of scissors instead. Even using it a couple of times didn't really have any effect.
These wrappers are usually abut £30, but are often on half price sale in Tesco, Asda and Mothercare, so keep an eye out, and the cassettes are usually on offer too.
A useful item to have in your nursery, and I found it time saving and efficient.
Summary: A good buy, saves on trips to the bin!
