Advantages: Folds, Fits easily into your bag

Disadvantages: Hard to sit on

Last summer, when my then 2 year old was potty training, it came to my attention that she was a bit small for sitting on big toilets when we went out. I lost count of the number of times she fell down the loo!

I had remembered seeing a folding seat in a magazine and found it in Blooming Marvellous, but after a few failed attempts to order it from the net, I ended up going to the Tesco website and getting it for £7.99 plus £3 packing. I recently saw the seat in John Lewis but didn't notice the price. The seat is called a toodle Loo seat!

My package arrived 3 days later while I was on holiday and it appeared to have disappeared until my mother in law announced that she had a parcel for me!

My A5 sized enveloped contained a plastic bag, sort of like what some toys come in now, with a handle which would make it easy to carry. I took the folded seat out of the bag and unfolded it!

Then came the test of trying out the loo with it! The seat comes in 4 parts which fold up in different ways but easily that my 2 year old could do it! It was white and made from a very hard plastic! On the top of the seat was a little ridge which was where the bun would sit!

The seat did not fit well on to any toilet and eventually I mastered being able to lift my daughter onto the seat, so she could do the loo without the seat moving out of position. She complained at first of it being hard and sore, but we have a soft toilet seat at home so I think she wasn't used to the hard plastic!

I found the seat to be off a hard durable plastic and was easily wiped clean if there were any little mishaps! In theory the seat is a fab idea but in practice a child may find it uncomfortable. It doesn't sit in the actual main toilet seat like most big seats do, but for being out and about, it does help a child feel more cofident
about using a different toilet and prevents them falling down the big toilet!

The fact that the seat folds easily and fits in it's own little bag which makes it easy to hide in a rucksack or large bag is very convenient! It's very light so you don't even notice that you are carrying it!

How interesting - a toilet seat with its own bag! That can be quite useful - great review!

What a clever Idea, I've never heard of these before. I'm a bit out of touch with these things, my son being 23.

An interesting review. Should I ever have a child I will certainly remember this.. or if the child annoys me flush repeatidly if it's stuck down the toilet.
